You are loved by GOD no matter what… Today my devotional from Rick Warren is powerful so I want to share it exactly as it’s written…someone needs this reminder today. “God Says You're Acceptable Many of us base our self-confidence on what other people think, so we work hard at being accepted. We buy things, we wear things, we join things -- all just for the benefit of trying to be accepted by our friends, family, co-workers and peers. Does God say you have to earn acceptance? That you could ever deserve it? No. The Bible just says, God has accepted you. If you're a believer, then you've accepted Jesus into your life. But do you understand that God accepts you? He loves you unconditionally and accepts you for who you are. Some of you grew up with unpleasable parents. No matter what you did, it was never, ever good enough. Even today you're still trying to earn their love and approval. If that's the case -- with your parents or with anyone else you've been seeking to please -- there are two things you need to know: First, in all likelihood, you're never going to get that approval or acceptance. Not because of who you are but because of who they are. Second, you don't need their approval because you are acceptable to God. You don't need their approval to be happy. God loves us without condition or expectation. Knowing that, how could we not love Him back? God doesn’t want us to love Him out of obligation for what Christ did on the cross. He wants us to love Him out of APPRECIATION for everything in our lives, including what Christ did on the cross. And even if we don’t love Him back, He won’t stop loving us. “Watch what God does, and then you do it, like children who learn proper behavior from their parents. Mostly what God does is love you. Many people know the story of David and Goliath. Often we use that story to talk about overcoming our giants but it’s bigger than that. Yes we face giants but David didn’t defeat Goliath. God did. God used something and someone that the world thought couldn’t possibly accomplish the task. A boy, with a simple sling and some smooth stones. This wasn’t to glorify David, and it wasn’t so you could think you have the power to slay giants. It’s to show that GOD can use anyone or any thing in order to protect his people. The question we should ask is “am I your people God?” And the answer is…a question. Are you following Him? If you are, then yeah, you’re his people. If you’re not following Him, today is a good day to make that decision. God has a plan for your life. Get to know Him and learn what that plan is. And trust HIM to slay your giants. Its ok that people worship God differently than you or I. Some adhere (as best they can) to mosaic law. Some don’t. Some believe in speaking in tongues as a way to pray. Some don’t. Some believe in prophetic words. Some don’t. The moment we believe that WE have a corner on the market for “doing it right”…that is the moment we lose our humility because we now believe we are “worthy” of something we have never deserved in the first place. God’s love and grace. God’s decision to love us, a group of disobedient and disrespectful children, is and will always be a mystery for which I am eternally grateful. Thank you God! This meme killed me ? Its a great reminder that Jesus pointed out that we dont know the day of His return. Why would he say that? So we would realize that OUR MISSION isn’t to prep for going someplace else, (heaven), our mission is to being heaven right here to earth by making disciples of Jesus. Teaching people to turn toward God and to help them realize that He has already done the saving work through Christ in His death, burial and resurrection. A word of encouragement that somebody needs to hear today… Storms come but you’re not alone. The past 16 months have been a storm for many of us. Depression, suicide, violent crimes have all been skyrocketing. People have felt lonely, and that makes sense when much of the world has been locked down for a long time. But God wants you to know that you’re never alone. Whether you “feel” His presence or not, take comfort in knowing that God is with you, and he hears your cries. Don’t struggle in silence, cry out to God. He will make sure you’ve got what you need. He will keep you safe. He will walk beside you and carry the load with you. Let Him. The flames of the enemy’s oppression will not consume you, they will refine you, if you walk through them with the LORD. “When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. Free… We speak a lot about God’s grace as Christians but like the Pharisees of old, many of us struggle with the idea that God freely forgives sin…especially when it comes to others. In Jesus day, the Pharisees struggled to wrap their head around the idea that God would also want these crazy Gentiles (non-Jews) in the family. After all, the Gentiles hadn’t been given Torah and they Hadn’t been living under those strict rules so they didn’t “deserve” God’s forgiveness. But the truth is, none of us “deserve” it. And that’s what makes God’s GIFT so amazing. You and I can’t earn it by right living anymore than Abraham could earn God’s favor. God has chosen to create humanity and in spite of our flaws He has chosen to love us and redeem us. And in spite of how much our human nature wants to put conditions on that salvation… God freely gave it, through UNconditional love. That’s mercy. That’s grace. Stop trying to “save” people. Jesus did that. Instead, start letting people know of God’s grace. Let them know they are saved, they are loved, and that it’s all free from God. Who wouldn’t want that? “Yet through his powerful declaration of acquittal, God freely gives away his righteousness.
