It’s not the mission of Christian’s to be the savior of humanity, nor is it our mission to judge people regarding their salvation based on whether or not they keep Jesus’ commands.
Jesus Himself says: “I have come as light into the world, so that everyone who believes in me would not remain in darkness. If anyone hears my words and doesn’t keep them, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world but to save the world.”
John 12:46-47 CSB
Perhaps this is why John later writes…
“My little children, I am writing you these things so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father — Jesus Christ the righteous one. He himself is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours, but also for those of the whole world.”
1 John 2:1-2 CSB
Jesus completed His mission of saving the world from hell, it’s time for us to actually embrace the mission we are called to:
Make disciples.
How?
Be Salt and Light.
How?
Love God, Love People.
That’s a mission we CAN accomplish, and it’s much less heavy than the weight of trying to “save” people.
