Many times we think that being a follower of Jesus means no pain, and a guarantee of physical healing ❤️‍? but that’s not what He promised. These thoughts are actually one of the enemy’s biggest traps. If he can get us to believe that Jesus will fix everything in our lives on earth, he knows we will end up discouraged and disappointed and doubting. Jesus promised something beyond this broken life. He promised something in the age to come. Our job is to follow Him and have faith in His promises Our job is to help others also know the truth of His promise. God loves you. I love today’s verse because it reminds me of Jesus telling us who are “weary” to come to him because his burden is light. God gives you His strength when you don’t have any...but do you know Him? If not, open a Bible and read about Jesus in the book of Matthew or John. Know God, know His love and let Him be your strength. “Why would you ever complain, O Jacob, or, whine, Israel, saying, “ GOD has lost track of me. He doesn’t care what happens to me”? Don’t you know anything? Haven’t you been listening? GOD doesn’t come and go. God lasts. He’s Creator of all you can see or imagine. He doesn’t get tired out, doesn’t pause to catch his breath. Why context matters. Many Christians use this verse as if God is some cosmic vending machine that gives us anything we want but did you know that, this verse is NOT about NAMING and claiming? When we read in context we learn that he’s actually talking about asking God for help to convince other Christ followers who have strayed from the gospel to turn back to God and...and that God will listen and we can rest assured they’ll come back home. Read the scriptures section by section in context instead of using the Bible to validate your will, open yourself up so it can shape you in God’s will.  “My purpose in writing is simply this: that you who believe in God’s Son will know beyond the shadow of a doubt that you have eternal life, the reality and not the illusion. And how bold and free we then become in his presence, freely asking according to his will, sure that he’s listening.
