Have you worried that a lack of discipline is holding you back? . Being disciplined isn’t a requirement for success. . Successful people knkw that it’s about managing discipline rather than exercising discipline 24/7. It’s what we call “selected discipline”. . Selected discipline is a powerful tool that can be used to create the good habits and result in big achievements in your life. . Discipline by itself doesn’t produce results. . It’s how you use discipline that makes a difference. . Disciplined people just practice good habits. . Discipline and habits go hand-in-hand. . All areas of your life don’t need to be met with discipline, just the areas that matter the most. . Success is recognising the habits that will help you achieve your goals and developing that habit into a natural behaviour. . When you focus on the most important things, everything else is easier. . You have enough self-control to practice selected discipline and create good habits. . Once the habit is established, it requires much less discipline to maintain. . Michael Phelps overcame ADHD and focused on overcoming the competition. His habit was swimming every day. . Unlike other swimmers, Phelps put his discipline towards training seven days a week and let the less important stuff slide. . Stephen King and Ernest Hemingway both has mastered selected discipline to hone their craft. Both wrote every day no matter what. . You can experience the results that have been enjoyed by high achievers when you approach what matters most in your life with the necessary discipline to succeed. . Ready to put your discipline towards creating the right habit for amazing success? . Research from the UCL showed that 66 days is the average time it takes to create a habit. . At the onset the majority of your discipline will need to be reserved for this habit, but as you work your way through the challenge you’ll notice that less and less is needed yet the results will continue to grow. . The actual range is 18 to 254 days... . Make this year more successful with less reliance on discipline by accepting the Strong Body Strong Mind Challenge! . If you want to know more, comment below ?
Perception is how you experience what you have made up - your version of reality. . Perception is expressed through thoughts & feelings that you take for granted to be true. Thoughts and feelings are an expression of your assumptions in any moment, not a reflection of actual reality or what is truly possible. . ᴅᴇꜰɪɴɪᴛɪᴏɴ ᴄʀᴇᴀᴛᴇꜱ ᴘᴇʀᴄᴇᴘᴛɪᴏɴ . We are beings, creative spirits, with an individual experience of existence. We achieve that by defining. The mind defines and divides. . The Ego always asks, “How is it?” We have experiences from which we define our selves, others and the world. . Those definitions answer, “How is it?” and end up being set in stone. . Or, in other words, become our beliefs. . Our beliefs create an emotional and mental response, thoughts and feelings, whose lens we then see the world through. . How do you know what you know? . Even when we are cognizant of a commonly accepted fact like, the sky is blue. . We know what we know, but we don’t know by what process or mechanism we know it. . Why is something good or bad? . Wrong or right? . Acceptable or unacceptable? . Our minds are processing 400 Billion bits of information every second and we’re only self consciously aware of 2000 bits. . Why these 2000 in this moment? How were they selected as what we should be aware of? . And the fact of the matter is that we have unconscious biases built in from our past experience that determine what we “know”. . We actually just assume stuff. . We assume we’re separate. We assume we’re limited. We assume we’re not creators. . ???? ???????? ??? ???????? ????’? ????. . Different beliefs are expressed by different feelings. Emotions convey a relationship with some form of separation. . Anger which expresses Powerlessness. Depression which is long term Powerlessness. Frustration which expresses lack of Control. Emptiness which is Not Good Enough. Shame and guilt which are Worth related. Fear which is a sense of separation from viability, meaning safety, and so on. . We’re in our thoughts and feelings because we need to know how it is, and our Ego, or Rational Mind, refers to our beliefs for orientation.
???? ??? ??? ???? ???? ??? ??????? . Really failed. And looked bad doing it. . This might be in a relationship, on the job, a home project, or during a fitness training session. . It’s scary. But if you’ve been avoiding it, give it a try. . Why? . ?? ???????’? ?? ????????? ???? ??????? ???????? ?????? ????? ?? ??????????. ?? ?????? ?? ????????? ?? ???? ????????????? ????? . That path, requires failure! . When we talk about training or even rehab, we can’t do so without talking about failure. . Muscle failure is the type of failure we reference most often here. This technique of taxing out a muscle means that you’re ripping up muscle fibers to ensure you get good growth in the next few days ahead. . How spectacular. ??? ??? ??????? ??? ?????????? ?? ???? ???? ??? ???? ??????? . Everyone struggles. But I challenge you to invite yourself to struggle with purpose. . Each time you do, you are provided with the opportunity to strengthen your resolve. . Think of it as the ability to bare up under stress with the knowledge that you’ll bounce back stronger, smarter, and more skilled. . Further, when you struggle you come into contact with your humanity. This binds us, a global community, together. . Keep this in mind, the next time you are feeling weak, frustrated, overwhelmed, or insignificant. . Be sure to stay calm. Avoid the compulsion to relive your failures over and over. . Win the mental battle by doubling down on the effort to move forward, remaining open to the lessons of whatever great difficulty you are facing. . We don’t need to beg and plead for an easy life, just an interesting one full of passion, hard-work, and some grim enthusiasm. . Failure ensures this! . . "You are today where your thoughts have brought you; you will be tomorrow where your thoughts take you" ~ James Allen, British philosophical writer known for his book, 'As a Man Thinketh', which has been mass-produced since its publication in 1903. It has been a source of inspiration to motivational and self-help authors. . Your mind is the basis of everything you experience in life and every contribution you can make to the lives of others. . So given this fact, it makes sense to train. . You already know what it's like to have an untrained mind, we all do. . It's what allows us to be less than happy even when things are as good as they can get. Even when everything is fine. . Many of us are still consumed by stress. . We spend most of our time thinking, about all the things we need to do, or want to do or wish we hadn't done it. . We spent very little time, truly content and focused in the present. . And because of this, we often fail to really connect with the people around us. Even the people you love most in this world. . Understanding your own mind directly through the practice of mindfulness is the best way I know of to correct for this. . And to be clear, the goal of meditation is not to become a great meditator. . The goal ultimately is for there to be no difference between the clarity and freedom, you experience in periods of formal meditation and the clarity and freedom you experienced in your life. . In your relationships at work. When stuck in traffic. Even when receiving a scary diagnosis from your doctor. . There is no boundary between life and practice and practice shouldn't give you a sense that such a boundary exists. . Practice should become a kind of wise companion which you can use daily or even only occasionally to help you deepen your understanding of your own mind. . It will become a tool to help you live a more examined life. . If it works, you'll find that it has enormous implications for everything you do in life.

"Practice isn't the thing you do once you're good. Practice is the thing you do that makes you good" ~ @malcolmgladwell . No matter what the field, the most effective approach to improving performance is to follow a single set of principles.” . ?????????? ???????? ?? ?????????? ??? ?????????? . As humans, we’re wired to want to do the easiest thing at all times in order to conserve energy. . It’s in our nature to be lazy. . When we practice something a lot, we develop habits that become almost effortless to reproduce. . While that’s beneficial in many areas of our lives, it’s something we have to overcome in order to engage in deliberate practice. . We can’t expect constant improvement if we keep repeating the elements of a skill we already know how to do with ease. . Deliberate practice is structured to improve specific elements of a skill through defined techniques. . Practitioners focus above all on what they ???’? do. . They seek out areas of weaknesses impacting their overall performance, then target those. . At every stage, they set SMART goals in order to gauge whether their practice is effective at moving them forwards. . Numbers are a deliberate practitioner’s best friend. . If you want to reach an expert level of performance, you need to begin practice sessions with a plan in mind. You need to know what you’re working on, why, and how you intend to improve it. You need a way to tell if your improvement efforts aren’t working and if you need to try a new tactic. . Once you reach your goal for that particular component of the skill, it’s time to identify a new area of weakness to work on next. . Having lots of little, realistic goals with a game plan for achieving them makes deliberate practice motivating. There’s a sense of ongoing movement, yet the next step is always a realistic stretch. Day by day, the gains from deliberate practice may feel modest. But when we look back over a longer period of time, small bits of progress compound into gigantic leaps.
Deliberate practice is a universal technique, and you can employ it for whatever you’re trying to be the best (or just get a little bit better) at. . It’s easiest to apply to competitive fields with clear measurements and standards, including music, dance, football/soccer, cricket, hockey, basketball, golf, horse riding, swimming, and chess. . But deliberate practice is also invaluable for improving performance in fields such as teaching, nursing, surgery, therapy, programming, trading, and investing. . It can even accelerate your progress in widely applicable skills such as writing, decision-making, leadership, studying, and spoken communication. . The key in any area is to identify objective standards for performance, study top performers, and then design practice activities reflecting what they do. . Recent decades have seen dramatic leaps in what people are capable of doing in many fields. The explanation for this is that we’re getting better at understanding and applying the principles of deliberate practice. . As a field advances, people can learn from the best of what those who came before them figured out. . The result is that now average high-schoolers achieve athletic feats and children advance to levels of musical prowess that would have seemed unthinkable a century earlier. . And there’s little evidence to suggest we’ve reached the limits of our physical or mental abilities in any area whatsoever. . Many of us spend a lot of time each week practicing different skills in our lives and work. But we don’t automatically get better just because we repeat the same actions and behaviours, even if we spend hours per day doing it. . Research suggests that in areas such as medicine, people with many years of experience are often no better than novices—and may even be worse. . ?? ?? ???? ?? ??????? ? ?????, ?? ???? ?? ???? ???? ??????? ??? ?? ?????? ??? ???? ????? ??? ?? ?????. ?????????, ?? ???????. . . “Engaged in the creative process we feel more alive than ever, because we are making something and not merely consuming, masters of the small reality we create. In doing this work, we are in fact creating ourselves.” ~ Robert Greene, Mastery . Deliberate practice is the best technique for achieving expert performance in every field—including writing, teaching, sports, programming, music, medicine, therapy, chess, and business. But there’s much more to deliberate practice than 10,000 hours. . What is deliberate practice? . Deliberate practice is what turns amateurs into professionals. Across every field, deliberate practice is what creates top performers and what they use to stay at the top of their game. It’s absolutely essential for expert performance. . As a general concept, “practice” means preparing. It’s the act of repeatedly performing certain activities with the intention of improving a specific associated skill. . We rehearse what to do in low-pressure situations so we’ll be better when we use a skill in situations where something is actually at stake, such as in a competition or in the workplace. . Although this definition may seem obvious, it’s crucial to distinguish between doing something and practicing it, because they’re not always synonymous. The key distinction between doing and practicing is that we’re only practicing something when we do it in a way that makes us better at it—or at least with that intention. . Deliberate practice means practicing with a clear awareness of the specific components of a skill we’re aiming to improve and exactly how to improve them. . Unlike regular practice, in which we work on a skill by repeating it again and again until it becomes almost mindless, deliberate practice is a laser-focused activity. . It requires us to pay unwavering attention to what we’re doing at any given moment and whether it’s an improvement or not. . . "Don't let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do" ~ Coach John Wooden. . John Wooden was an American basketball coach. Nicknamed the "Wizard of Westwood," he won ten National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) national championships in a 12-year period as head coach for the UCLA Bruins, including a record seven in a row. No other team has won more than four[1] in a row in Division I college men's or women's basketball.[2][3][4] Within this period, his teams won an NCAA men's basketball record 88 consecutive games. Wooden won the prestigious Henry Iba Award as national coach of the year a record seven times and won the AP award five times. . John Wooden's Seven Point Creed was given to him by his father Joshua upon his graduation from grammar school: . Be true to yourself. . Make each day your masterpiece. . Help others. . Drink deeply from good books. . Make friendship a fine art. Build a shelter against a rainy day. . Give thanks for your blessings every day. Wooden also lectured and authored a book about the Pyramid of Success. . The Pyramid of Success consists of philosophical building blocks for succeeding at basketball and at life. . Among Wooden's maxims: . Failing to prepare is preparing to fail (from Benjamin Franklin) . Flexibility is the key to stability . Be quick, but don't hurry Seek opportunities to show you care. The smallest gestures often make the biggest difference . In 2009, Wooden was named The Sporting News "Greatest Coach of All Time".
“Whether you think you can, or you think you can't – you're right" ~ Henry Ford. . A recent tweet by @adammeakins reminded me of this quote. . Those who think they can get better... do! . Those who think they can’t get better... don’t! . Whether it is pain and injury... . ... body weight or composition goals . .... mental performance . .... improve sleep . .... cutting out junk food or alcohol . .... or even sleeping better. . This does not mean that you do not want or need some help... . But, every achievement of a goal starts with your mindset. . Do you agree? . Opinions below ?? . .
