In Matthew 6 people are wondering about where their shelter, clothing and food will come from...much like people right now are worried thanks to a virus and crazy government lock downs. How did Jesus respond? He told a story of birds, flowers and how God provides for them...and then he says that if God takes care of them “...He will certainly care for you...” He goes on to say “Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6:33‬ ‭NLT‬‬ We all struggle, and feel like life isn’t “going our way” but have we tried putting God first? If you’re at the end of your rope, hang on...now that you’ve emptied your heart and mind with your own ideas, you’ve made space for God to fill you up! Invite Him into your life my friends. He is the father you’ve never known that you’ve always had. He wants to care for you...PLEASE let Him.

It sounds weird doesn’t it? God putting on skin to come here...suffer through human emotion like pain and rejection. Of course it sounds weird, it should. During the time the Bible was written, the ‘gods’ that everyone worshipped didn’t do things like that. Instead those ‘gods’ expected you to do certain rituals if you didn’t want to perish. Then, Jesus comes on the scene talking about there being ONE God and telling people that THIS God is paying the price for all of humanity’s wrongdoing. Jesus was sharing a radically different message about a God who loved His people, a God who sacrificed His only son to save humanity eternally. Yes it was hard to believe then...and it is ok if it feels hard to believe now...heck, even Jesus own follower Thomas struggled to believe...but what if it’s all true? What if you could know that someone loves you THAT much? What if you didn’t ever have to feel alone again because even in the quiet...you knew that the God who created everything was always with you. What if right now, in this moment, you choose to believe that the God of the universe actually believes you’re worth being loved that much?
