Hello everyone! Welcome to the seventh (and final!?) email in this series on women’s health! I hope you found this to be a helpful resource that provides you with valuable information for your health and wellness journey and a piece you bookmark for reference. If you missed the last six in this series, you can read them here. Next week we have a special Kiddo Edition for more resources on things for kids and their wellness. Please also know that there will be a few more emails than normal as I get ready to open up my course for its second cohort!! And then we'll go back to normal after that.
Please note that these emails may contain affiliate links, which means at no additional cost to you, I will receive a commission if you choose to purchase through them. Thank you for supporting me and my business!
Updates!
- My online course, Mindful Movement in Mere Minutes is going to be opening up for registration for its second cohort April 15th-22nd and will be priced at $399. But the most important thing for you to know is that a few days before that happens, I am going to email you with a code that gets you $100 off the course. Wait, $100 off?! Seriously Natalie? Yes. For real. Just for being an email subscriber - it will be active for only 48 hours, and won't be available once the course opens to the public on the 15th, so mark your calendars and watch for my email next week!
- Locals! I'll have a booth at The Baby Fair (part of the Spring Fling for Women) in Anchorage April 15th-16th! I'll also do a mindful movement presentation on Saturday at noon! I'll be offering some new gift boxes that I haven't sold before! I hope to see you there!
- Ready to get hiking this summer? Join this group class at The Yoga Shack in Palmer on April 30th: Gait Lab + Group Walk, a collab with myself and Revel Treks + Tours!
Welcome to The Mental Health Edition. My biggest hope is that by providing all these resources and encouragement to you, I have given you places to go for all sorts of wellness topics, and this one is really important. Mental health is top priority and if we're not living in a way that helps support our mind, then let's think about what small changes we can make that can improve it. This might just look like admitting that you need to talk to someone. Or deciding to take a nap instead of being productive that day. Here are some resources for you.
Something to listen to:
- Creating a Mental Push Plan with Carolyn and Lauren Chatting with Lauren and Carolyn was eye opening and I am so glad that we connected on Instagram. Their programs (Mental Push Plan & Mental Grief Plan) are instrumental and I feel even more powerful than your typical “birth plan” in terms of having tool for overcoming obstacles you may meet during birth. You can always use the code trainernatalie for 10% off any product also! It just makes sense to use principles from sports psychology and yoga to prepare for birth, right? Have a listen. I think you’ll enjoy it.
- Improving Maternal Mental Health with Morgan Turner I got to talk with with Morgan Turner about how her experience in doula work has transitioned her into the counseling space. She's currently in graduate school and plans to be a perinatal mental health counselor, and it's helpful to listen even if you aren't a mother because we talked about the common signs to look for if you or someone you know is going through some mental health struggles and what to do next.
Something to read: Mental Push Plan Blog
A collection of personal stories of birth and loss. Reading similar stories from others can be a way to feel “normal” and have hope for the future.
Something to know: Postpartum Support International has LOADS of resources - for all types of parents and caregivers, not just postpartum mamas.
- Find a local support coordinator: https://www.postpartum.net/get-help/united-states/
- Find an online support group for practically everything you can think of: https://www.postpartum.net/get-help/psi-online-support-meetings/
Thank you as always for reading, I appreciate you. Feel free to forward to a friend who might find this helpful. Or better yet, use the referral link below so your friend continues to get these emails and you get a chance to win prizes.
Please bear with me as in the next couple weeks, there will be a few more emails than normal, but then we'll be right back to 1x/week. ☺️
Warmly,
Natalie
