I hit a brick wall in my writing a few days ago. It feels like writer's block. It isn't. It's what Gabriela Pereira in her book "DIY MFA" calls RESISTANCE. "Resistance...is your compass and can guide you precisely where you need to go with your writing." This helps me a lot. ?

I've worked a good part of the day on this and I really like how it turned out! I put together a Facebook page for my new #SunMakerSaga series. RUIN FALL: BOOK ONE comes out this Fall! Give a like/follow for release news! ?

Today I wrote 5,080 words, completing two chapters! I'm VERY happy with what I've done so far. I'm beginning to ramp up this novel to its inevitable climax, but my focus is always on my characters and their growth. I'm sensing a longer post about this on the horizon. ?

I seem to be in a good mood today, and so does Baby Groot! I wrote 4,268 words today in just under 6 hours, reaching my goal for the day. Hopefully this means my slump is coming to an end. ? #amwriting #sunmakersaga

I wrote 2,910 words today. Nowhere near my personal best. My brain woke me up at 5:30 this morning and said "You're awake now! Yaaay!" Needless to say, I was a very unhappy person this morning. ? #amwriting #sunmakersaga

Today was pretty rough...but I eventually beat my goal! I wrote 4,331 words today! I am exactly 50% done with this draft! Thanks to everyone (including Joey and Bonsai) who gave me support and encouragement! ?

I wrote 4,650 words today. It's the 10th day since I started writing this draft and I'm almost halfway done! Just look how proud Joey looks!

I wrote 4,089 words today. Exactly 40% finished with the first draft of Book Five. I'm looking out for new title names as I write. So far, it's been exciting. My characters surprise me in so many ways, most of them subtle. I can't wait to reach the end of this journey with them.
