Instagram LogoA few weeks ago, I commissioned an art piece through Fiverr.com meant to depict a bladeship from one of my books. I think it came out quite well! Bladeships are warships from my Sun Maker and Stars Reach novels. Let me know what you think! #SunMakerSaga #StarsReachSaga ?
Instagram LogoAaaaand that's a wrap! Draft 1 of Book 5 is completed at 90,141 words! The new title will be HARROWED BLADE. I'll get it to my alpha readers first, then later to my beta readers with at least 3 revisions. Thanks to everyone for your support! ? #SunMakerSaga
Instagram LogoToday I worked 2 hours past when I normally stop writing. I wrote 7,524 words today! As of now, I am 98% done with this draft! Two more chapters to write! I think I have a new title for this book. I'll announce it soon. ? #AmWriting #SunMakerSaga

Instagram LogoHey, everyone! ?? I am SO excited to be graduating this summer from Western Colorado University with an MA in Publishing. My thesis project was to take a book in the public domain, edit it, and reissue it with a new cover. I chose Jules Verne's FROM THE EARTH TO THE MOON and ROUND THE MOON--both stories together in one volume. I chose this book because it is one of the very first hard science fiction stories. Jules Verne has been called the Father of Science Fiction and, as you might know, I'm a BIG fan of science fiction. Ray Bradbury once wrote, "We are all, in one way or another, the children of Jules Verne." I've never done anything like this before and I'm very proud of the end result. I enjoyed reading the book for the first time this past year and was impressed with Verne's foresight of the moon landing and his philosophy about repurposing weapons of war for vehicles of scientific discovery. It's a light-hearted, humorous, and sometimes heart-pounding story that everyone can enjoy, about the need to risk everything for progress and knowledge. I recommend picking up a copy. Let me know what you think in the comments below! ?? This edition will be available in a few days on June 23rd. Preorder now!
Instagram Logo5,265 words today. As a writer, there are two powers eternally at war inside me. One mourns the passing of a character in my story. The other rejoices in the part they've played in the tale. I'm still trying to reconcile the two. #AmWriting #SunMakerSaga
Instagram LogoJust playing around with overlays. ?
Instagram LogoI think I figured out the structural and thematic problems I was having with my ending. I should be ready to resume writing tomorrow. Unfortunately, this sets me back a few days. If all goes well, I should be finished on 6/25. I'm 65% done.
Instagram LogoComing up with titles for my stories is like trying to write poetry. Try to express the core of the multiple abstract ideas of what I'm trying to say in my novel in as few words as possible. And make it sound and look good while you're at it. ?
