Sunday Stir #32 - Sperm, COVID, Hunger, Freedom

Aug 09, 2021 2:56 am

Happy Sunday! I started reading a new book this week: Count Down: How Our Modern World Is Threatening Sperm Counts, Altering Male and Female Reproductive Development, and Imperiling the Future of the Human Race.

The gist of it is that the average modern male is having serious reproductive problems. Sperm counts are way down, testosterone levels cut in half, and even penis size is decreasing. Females are also having serious reproductive problems too with miscarriages and infertility on the rise. The book was written by a leading reproductive epidemiologist and attempts to explain why all of this is happening. I plan on doing a summary of the book on my website later.

Alrighty on to the Stir!

The World of COVID

COVID isn't going away. It's here forever. I personally have forgotten about COVID and live my life like it doesn't exist. Yet, the media has people in a frenzy over the spike in cases across the country. Some cities and state are particularly idiotic. Take NYC for example. New York City will require proof of vaccination in order to enter all restaurants, gyms and indoor entertainment venues. This is a bad move by NYC in my opinion. Are they hoping people are going to just get the vaccine because they want to be able to go out again? People have a right to choose. They shouldn't be forced or punished. They are adults and should have the freedom to make their own decisions.

The media is making this spike out to be the scariest thing ever when really the number of cases are still well below the winter peak. They are also making a big deal about vaccinated people getting COVID when really it's only like 1-2% of the new cases. 98% of new cases are of unvaccinated people. Besides there's not a single vaccination that is 100% safe and effective.

The World of Hunger

Hunger is your body’s way of measuring how SOON you should eat, not how MUCH you should eat. A lot of people get this wrong. If you’re super hungry, it just means you need to eat now, not eat a lot. /source
