The best part of my day is spent like this. When I’m struggling with something personally or professionally, he comes to hug me at just the right moment. These aren’t the only moments we have. Sometimes we have teachable, tough love moments. Moments where I have to minister to him, correct him and direct him. These moments remind me not to get too comfortable in my parenting. I was talking to a client one day about how being a mom can be the most challenging thing you do but it also brings so much joy. As that reflection has continued for me, my mom and I discussed how we should all be growing. You should see growth in your life as a whole. If you are so focused on work and career goals that you neglect home, you’re not growing. If you’re so focused on home that things are falling about at work…you need to do an audit. Life can be challenging but reflection, awareness and grace can help you go a little bit further. Step out of your comfort zone to see real results. Because I know that my time is limited, I invest some of it in organization so I can be as productive as possible with the rest of it. I let go of the idea that I can do everything and focus my attention on a few things that matter most to me. I prune out the rest in order to be able to do quality work on those things without stretching myself too far. Because I am clear on where I am going, I find it natural to break down the steps I need to take to get there. Last night we started a new cohort of @costarters. We have a full cohort of 13 participants (14 if you spotted my special attendee in the back of the room). 😜 I’m so grateful that I get to facilitate these cohorts about twice per year. I’m always excited to meet and be inspired by other entrepreneurs. (Not pictured) @mikedavisrealestate is the best administrator I know. We have been tag teaming this thing for two years. Wow! Also this was my first in-person cohort in two years. It was like the first day of school. 😂 I had to pick out my outfit because duh, I couldn’t wear leggings or pajama pants. 🙄 Being there…the energy in the room was almost indescribable. It was a mix of fear, excitement, positivity with a little anticipation and hope for the future. You feel it now, don’t you? That’s #entrepreneurship for you! I love teaching and facilitating so you know I’m in my zone and at home. The participants usually think I’m a little 😜, but they will remember their experience because I make it memorable! Also, this space is way bigger than what we experienced before.
