MY CHEAT DAYS (Don’t swipe if you can’t handle it) This isn’t about dieting or stuff. I’m not cut out for that life? yet. But just as you cheat with meals; I have cheat days for my finances. And here’s why. Our parents were most times concerned about long term investments, and we grew up hearing this term “I can’t afford it”. Yet, we had all our essential needs met...somehow. In a bid to change that narrative, we want the good life, and get everything as soon as we can afford (just because we can). In order not be caught in either of the extremes, I had to bring a balance in my long and short term investments with my cheat days. It is first a reward for a goal set and smashed. And then, it is a motivation to want more and do more. However, if I do not have assets at least 10 times over the expense my cheat days would be, I don’t ever dare. Finally, find someone to cheat with if you can. It makes cheating so much better? Do you have cheat days with your finances or every single day is a cheat day?? Guys!! Here is my first post feature by @youresteemgirl I posted this picture on my stories, and asked for a beautiful caption. Here’s what she came up with? When I first saw this picture on your stories, it took me time to find a suitable title for it. After much thinking, I settled for A GLIMPSE OF YOURSELF. At that time, I was feeling a whole lot of emotions rushing through me and making me feel less of myself. When I saw the picture, it registers an image of the future self and the present self meeting at the junction of your process. When you look at the image, Science will tell you that it's called enantiomers meaning that the when an object is reflected on a mirror, it is the opposite you will see, the left becomes the right and the right becomes the left. It happens with all parts of your body when you are facing the mirror. Everything becomes the opposite. But it is way more than that. If you look at it critically, it is a connection of where you want to go and where you want to be vs where are you currently. And to get to that place, you need to learn, unlearn and relearn a lot of things. Because it is a journey. A glimpse of yourself is a ray of hope to let you know that even if you're not close to where you are supposed to be, you're no longer where you are. A glimpse of yourself is a call for you to take a look at yourself and celebrate your uniqueness and awesomeness because there is none like you. A glimpse of yourself is a notion for you not to be hard on yourself but to actually value the process of whatever you are going through. Make sure you learn valuable lessons. I had to prove a point. To myself. I am in the middle of a launch, and then, I remembered a story my father told me, one time. He was about to start a church. And he had put all things in place. He knew God would have him start that church. Everything seemed right. But he wanted to check again. Check to see if his motives were right. His intentions were pure. So he asked God one more time.
