Long awaited update

Hi ,

I’m so sorry it’s taken me so long to write this email. The truth is, I really struggle with the background admin of my Pilates, Yoga, and Meditation work often feels overwhelming.

That’s why I find WhatsApp the easiest way to stay in touch. It’s simple, quick, and just feels more human. If you haven’t already, here’s the link to join me on WhatsApp

That said, things have been busy lately. I’ve created another 4 courses for Insight Timer and something I never expected I’ve fallen in love with writing poetry. It started on a day retreat with one of my closest friends, Nicky. I had a moment of stillness, and something inside me said, “Write.” I put pen to paper and haven’t stopped since. I’ve now written I think over 50 poems.

Poetry has become a place where my inner voice can speak. Many of you know how I sometimes struggle to find the right words in conversation, my brain can move a bit differently due to ADHD Inattentive, and it’s not always easy to express myself clearly. But poetry helps. It gives shape to what I feel.

Most of my poems come early in the morning I’ll wake up with a few words in my head, blurry-eyed, often without my glasses, but I reach for my phone and type them in anyway.

I’ve started sharing them with some of you and also online via a platform called Substack. I’ve joined a lovely poetry group in Keynsham, and recently, I was invited to share my poems in the Keynsham Baptist magazine.

I even went to the Bath Literature Festival to see a poet a friend recommended —Donna Ashworth. After the event, I asked her about self-publishing, and she recommended Kindle Direct Publishing. I’d been hesitant, thinking it would be too complicated. But hearing how simple she made it sound, I decided to give it a go.

Since then, I’ve started pulling my poems together into three collections:

  • The Storms We Survive (about inner struggles and emotional resilience)
  • Unmasking ADHD (poems about neurodivergence and self-acceptance)
  • Nature & Wellbeing (a gentle, grounding collection)

The first book, The Storms We Survive, is nearly ready and I’m really excited to share it very soon. It speaks to the battles we often carry quietly inside, the ones people don’t always see.

Here’s one of the poems as a little taster

Sometimes I Wobble

If it speaks to you, you can buy my book from Amazon very soon or you can read more on my Substack or reply and let me know—I’d love to hear from you.

Warmly,

Sandhya Coyle
