Although I generally don't recommend getting your hands on a Franchise Disclosure Document before you need it, there are a few cases in which it's worth it.

For example, if the the folks at franchise headquarters are delaying sending it to you. Wait.

Why would they delay sending you a document that the U.S. government requires you to have (at a certain point in the buying process)?

One reason, is the document may have something in it that needs some "explainin'"

Like a plethora of lawsuits or a large number of franchisee defections.

Whatever the case, if you would like to obtain a franchisor's FDD, all you need to do is go to a specific state's website and download it. And it's 100% free!
