Instagram LogoA rare Instagram photo of our family at Zion in February ? I can’t remember exactly what we were laughing at so much, but it makes for a great photo! ? So last week I had a biopsy done on a spot on my scalp that just looked like a rash. I’ve had it for over a year. Initially I thought it was food allergy related, but it would NOT go away, which wasn’t normal. I started to wonder if it was psoriasis or something. I went to 2 dermatologists last year 3 different times and they just prescribed drops and didn’t think it was much at all y try to worry about. It persisted, itchy and at times painful, so I decided to get a third opinion at a different office last week. They took a biopsy and I found out yesterday morning it’s a superficial carcinoma ? It’s simple to treat, my new dermatologist is giving me a topical chemo cream to use for 6 weeks and that should take care of it. But what a surprise. I was not expecting that, I was hoping for a different diagnosis but I’m still so grateful it wasn’t more serious since it has been undiagnosed for over a year. Moral of the story, if something doesn’t feel right, trust your gut and look for answers until you find a doctor that can help! I can’t tell you how many times this sort of thing has happened to me, where there is something wrong I can’t put my finger on it but I’ll keep looking for answers until I figure it out what’s causing the problem. I pray about it, too, and even though these things seem small, God helps me find doctors that can help whether it’s my sinus headaches or my IBS. Persistence pays off, friends! I’m so grateful this isn’t more serious and it’s easy to treat (so glad they don’t have to cut into my skin again ??). It’s just inside my hairline so not a place I can put sunscreen either, I guess it’s time for more hats when I’m outdoors ?
