It has been some time since the team get together to have some fun due to covid. Finally had a half day Yacht Party with the team yesterday. But the weather suppose to be raining whole day according to weather forecast. So we had Plan B to do team bonding activities on board of air-conditioned Yacht with Karaoke. In the end weather turn kind to us and we stop our activities to jump into the water instead! We had more fun and bonding playing with the giant slides, water float and canoes. 🏊♀️🏄♂️🚣🏻♀️ Took beautiful photos and videos as memories. Everyone looking forward to the next trip or gathering already! 😊 Special shout out to @chuhaisg for making this happens! P.S. Should you Pay yourself first or Invest in yourself first? Pay yourself first is to Save. Invest in yourself first is for Growth. I’ll say do both if you can but if you have to choose only one, always invest in yourself first. Because if you do not grow, you will have less and less to save with inflation catching up. Worst still be replaced by others or technology! Last weekend, someone ask me “How do you define an investment in yourself?” I replied there are 5 areas in investing yourself: ✅ Invest in Courses and Coaches ✅ Invest in Tools ✅ Invest in People ✅ Invest in Me Time ✅ Invest in Health ❌ Did you stop learning after school and realized we are our biggest bottle neck? ❌ Did you realize in order to chop a tree faster with less effort is to sharpen your axe first? ❌ Did you misunderstood what it means by your network is your net worth? - It’s about how you treat people around you! ❌ Did you spend enough time understand yourself. ❌ Did you eat healthily or exercise regularly These are the things we do together and reminder one another as a Team 😊 #investinyourself
How do you raise from zero manpower to the Top team in the company❓ How do you attract high profile candidates❓ How do you achieve the highest productivity per consultant in the whole company❓ These are the high calling topics that I was tasked to share yesterday in our mid-year leaders review. Yes, I was struggling to build my team with zero manpower when I joined Financial Alliance (Official) Many choose to join a more establish team instead. Even when I managed to recruit, I was not able to train them to reach MDRT like me. And there was even once I lost one of my producer due to a misunderstanding. I was lost and even doubt if I am suitable to be a leader. These days my team is made up with a mix of talents from all ages: We have compliance officers We have Engineers We have Accountants from Big 4 and a VP Operations & Control (Finance) from MNC We have Certified Yoga Teachers, Piano Teachers, Tuition Teachers and Fresh Grads. We have ex-Bankers, ex-Tied Agents and from other FAs We even have sportswomen who won our Singapore first SEA Game Lawn Bowling. Yet with half of the size of the largest team in the company, we still emerge Top. So I was asked many times by others how did I made it❓ Hence I looked back and did a deep analysis… I realized it is the simplified ILP Framework that I implemented diligently all these years. This Framework is applicable regardless you are building a team or just seeking career growth in any industry. If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together! Today is our 1st hiking attempt for our company @financialliance charity event to raise $20k and also celebrates our 20th Anniversary. Things didn’t start right in the morning with weather app saying will be raining island wide for the whole day. Then it start to drizzle… Text start coming in and ask if we are still continuing the hike? I replied: “So excited to dance in the rain! I’m on my way!” The rain stop the moment we are at our start point! Then we start the journey with steep steps… Someone is giving up and saying should start more gradual instead of so tough at beginning. I said, “We should start difficult, then the rest of the road will be easy! You then have a breakthrough feeling early instead of gradually and you don’t feel anything even if you are progressing!” Indeed, the view was nicer up there. Air was fresher. The rest of the road was a breeze! I wouldn’t imagine myself clocking 8km walk on my own. 😬 I would have the idea of giving up half way too. 😆 However with a team, make it much more fun and easier! 💪 The bonus is we get to learn about new sales ideas and each other better on a personal level.
