It’s been almost a year since we came back home to Malaysia for good. Missing the UK, and looking forward to the day when we can return. ?
You’ll never know what will spark your interest and passion. The most random-est of decisions can be the turning point in your life. This picture was taken in February 2015, about 6 years ago, when I was working part-time as an Admissions Representative at @uwmadisonadmissions . My role was pretty simple - answer calls & emails from prospective applicants and help assist them through the application process. I chose to apply for this job because I was very picky in my part time jobs. A lot of university students would work in dining services or the university unions, but I was adamant (and thankfully successful!) in securing an office job. Little did I know, 6 years down the road, I’m working on the other side of university admissions, where I’m assisting A-Level students in applying to universities worldwide. All of which came from a random part time job that I picked up when I was at @uwmadison. ❤️ #badgers #nazuwrites
Putting this down on the feed as a reminder for my future self so that whenever I get tired of what I’m doing, I’m always reminded of the fact that what I do is important - not just to me but to others out there. Some people say results can motivate your actions, and I stand true with the statement. Seeing the people I talk to succeeding in their life, achieving their dreams and goals, makes the struggle worth every little while. So, my dear self, no matter how tired you are, and how close you are to giving up, please remember that your words have value and that you can make that difference in someone else’s life. And even if you feel insignificant compared to all the other people who are doing bigger and better things and creating massive change, remember that you don’t have to impact thousands of hundreds of people. If you can positively impact one person out of the millions out there, that is progress and that is good enough. (Also thank you Ari for sharing this to me last week, definitely made my weekend ?). #nazuwrites

This is something that I have been struggling a LOT over the past few years, and am slowly finding ways to let myself be comfortable with what I am doing and who I am as a person. I look at some of my successful peers and thought to myself, “Damn girl, look at them, they’re achieving so much more than you and some of them are even younger than you. What are you doing with your life?”. But I know it’s just the green monster in my head talking, & that it is not healthy for me to keep comparing myself to other people. As long as I am doing slightly better than I was yesterday, even by a slight 0.05%, that is still progress and I should be proud of it. After all - it’s a huge huge world, with more than enough space for all of us to be successful in our own ways and on our own time. Life will work out for the best, one way or another, so we just have to give it our best and trust in God’s Plans. Happy Friday everyone! #nazuwrites #motivation
Reminding myself this over & over again. I’ve always had a high expectation on my life and I know at times how I can be too hard on myself for not performing up to my expectations. This pandemic has really forced me to focus on myself & my mental health, of allowing myself to take a break from work and just relax, and of taking things at a slower pace or just spending a day or two not doing anything because I’m stressed out just looking at my laptop. So here’s one to myself, and to you as well, to remind us that while we are out there in the world to make the world a better place, it is important for us to also also take care of ourselves. #nazuwrites #selfcare
Coming off from the #PersonalBranding webinar I did with @career_57 on Monday night, I thought I can share my top 4 tips for students & graduates to help you to build a strong personal brand. Branding yourself is not a one-off thing, it is a long and continous process and you need to always monitor how things go and make adjustments as you go along. But, the best part about it is - it’s a fun journey! You’ll discover a lot of things about yourself along the way, meet a lot of inspiring people, learn new skills, and, who knows, land your next opportunity, whatever it may be! Go out there & be the best self that you can be! #motivation
I’ll be speaking about one of my favorite topics tomorrow with @career_57 . If you’re interested to join (it’s free!), register at bit.ly/C57_PersonalBranding now !
Weather forecast for this weekend: Lazy with a 90% chance of Netflix & sleep all weekend long. Hahah no who am I kidding? I’ve got tons of work to do, projects to work on, interviews to hold, events to plan, a draft or two to finish, and coaching sessions to attend and conduct. Can’t go out anywhere anyway due to MCO 2.0, so might as well make the most out of it and hustle hard. Have a good weekend everyone! ?
