Taking Time to Honour Loss and Self
Jul 09, 2025 11:41 am
Dear ,
Yesterday, I said goodbye to my beloved companion of 15 years, Charley. He was more than just a dog—he was my loyal friend, my quiet comfort, and a constant presence through some of the most important seasons of my life.
Losing him to cancer has left a deep ache in my heart. As I navigate this grief, I’m reminded how vital it is to allow ourselves the time and space to feel. To pause. To honour not only the loss, but also the love that came before it.
So for the next little while, I’ll be stepping back to tend to my emotional self. This is not only a way of saying goodbye to Charley with love and presence—it’s also a reminder to you, and to myself, that taking time to grieve, to rest, to feel, is not only OK… it’s necessary.
If you’re hurting too—whether from loss, heartbreak, transition, or simply the weight of the world—please take this as a gentle invitation to be kind to yourself.
To breathe. To feel. To honour what you need.
I’ll be back soon. In the meantime, thank you for being here, and thank you for understanding.
With love,
