Hello ,
I want to share something that took me years to understand — and even longer to say out loud:
My abuse story was never about the abuser.
That doesn’t mean I take the blame. Abuse is never the survivor’s fault.
But I’ve come to see that the reason I ended up in that relationship, and the reason I stayed, had everything to do with unhealed pain from my childhood — especially the deep abandonment I grew up with.
