🟩 Wait, didn’t I already answer that?

Hi ,

A friend of mine recently went to hire a consultant.

Initial call? Great.

Sharp, prepared, personable.

He was in.

Then came the handoff.

First, he had to “just hop on a quick call” with someone else.

That call started with, “So… tell me a bit about your business?”

He answered politely—again.

Then another person emailed him.

Same questions.

Same “quick chat.”

By the third handoff, he was out.

Not because the offer was bad.

Not because the price was too high.

Because it felt like work.

Every time he repeated himself, trust slipped.

Every new contact made the business feel less buttoned-up.

And the original excitement? Gone.

This happens more often than most people realize—especially when your “process” is just… handing people off like hot potatoes.

Want to fix it?

Make it feel seamless.

If you have to hand someone off:

  • Brief the next person properly
  • Share key details so the client doesn’t repeat themselves
  • Open with context: “I read your notes from the last call. Here’s what I know…”

Even better—cut the handoff altogether when you can.

Because to the client, it’s not just a team shift.

It’s a test of how easy it’s going to be to work with you.

Next up: we’re jumping back into Speed—specifically, how to make your offer feel instant (even if it’s not).
