1-2-3: On Task Management
1 Idea
- Proper Task Management starts as a skill. Then it evolves into art.
2 Questions
- Are you the one in control of your time, energy, and attention? Or is it the never-ending barrage of things to do?
- Does everything need to get done? And by YOU?
3 Actions
- Take a look at your to-do list or calendar and take a mental inventory by asking yourself this question for each one of them: Am I the right person to do this? Do this quickly. Take only a few seconds. The idea is to develop your sense of task awareness.
- Another quick exercise: For each item, if you are not the right person, identify who is.
- Now, take a look at this guide: Simplified Task Management. Apply one of the four choices in the orange boxes at the bottom to at least ten tasks, emails, or calendar events.
How did it go? What did you notice? Are you going to change anything? I want to know. Hit reply and tell me about them.
