Save the Date
I received a gift from a friend earlier this year. He knows I am a big fan of author, blogger, speaker, and thought leader Seth Godin. He is a big fan too. When he saw the Seth Godin Go Make a Ruckus 2025 calendar, he knew I had to have it.
Each day brings a new thought from Seth that encourages the reader to think. That might be what people mean when they use the term thought leader. It is less about what you think and more about the fact that you think.
All the daily messages are good, but some land at the perfect moment. As I read them each day, I tear them off and toss them away, but the ones that really strike a chord go into a small stack on my desk. I look through them when I am on hold, listening to a podcast, or procrastinating on something else I could be doing. Usually, Seth's words inspire me to take action.
Here are ten of my favorites from this year so far:
• All leaders are impostors. If you are not feeling like an impostor, you might not be working hard enough. (March 18)
• Anyone can be busy, but not everyone is productive. (May 2)
• First Ten: If ten people are changed by your product, they will tell the others. If they are not, you need a better product. (May 12)
• Instead of wondering when your next vacation is, you should set up a life you do not need to escape from. (May 15)
• Better is not up to us. It is up to those we seek to serve. (June 13)
• The only ideas that get stolen are the good ones. That is something to aspire to, not fear. (June 29)
• The words matter. It is easier to slow down and choose the right ones than it is to try and take the wrong ones back. (July 14)
• The best way to become a kind person is to do kind things. (August 31)
• A mountain is made of pebbles, and the ocean is made of drops. (October 4)
• In skiing and in life, the goal is not to get to the bottom of the hill. It is to have a bunch of good runs before the sun sets. (October 9)
I do not know if Seth will publish another calendar for 2026, but I am confident he will continue to share his thoughts in his books, podcast interviews, speeches, and daily blog posts.
Think about what prompts you to think each day, and find a way to do more of that.
