It's About What Happens Next

I was a guest on a real estate podcast last week and had a great conversation with Mark Peebles, the host of the Real Life in Real Estate show. You can watch or listen to our full conversation here on YouTube.

As I listened to the recording, I was reminded of a lesson I learned early in my business that I have shared with many aspiring agents. It came up again when Mark asked me how my daughter Riley was doing in her rookie year in the business.

"It doesn't matter how quickly you get your first closing. It's what happens after that first closing that's going to determine your success in this business."

Just keep showing up. Keep listening to podcasts, reading blogs, and attending classes.

Hold those open houses. Post your activities, inspirations, or questions on social media, and strive to create more engagement.

Can you handwrite someone a note? Email a market update? Call someone to say hello? Meet someone for breakfast, coffee, lunch, or happy hour?

Just remember, you are not going to win today's game with yesterday's home runs.

Today is a good day to build those relationships, solve some problems, and have some fun along the way.

And then... do it again tomorrow. It's always about what happens next.
