Get Up and Go

Sometimes you choose your position based on momentum. I noticed that at this weekend's Ohio State football game versus Minnesota.

It was a beautiful October evening in Columbus. The ol' Horseshoe (aka Ohio Stadium) was filled with more than 105,000 college football fans ready to watch the #1 Buckeyes battle the Golden Gophers. From the opening kickoff, you could feel the energy in the stadium.

When the Buckeyes were on defense, the fans rose to their feet, filling the air with cheers and applause. When Ohio State had the ball, they stayed standing, roaring louder with every first-down run, deep pass completion, and touchdown.

But when the game went to a timeout, the crowd settled down, took their seats, and rested their voices.

Game on. Back on your feet.

Game off. Settle down.

The same thing happens in real estate. When business is rolling, it’s time to stand tall and leverage that energy to create even more opportunities. Activity breeds activity, so harness the good momentum and keep building on it. When things slow down or momentum stalls, it’s okay to take a seat, regroup, and make sure you’re focused on the right plays and surrounded by the right teammates to get back in the game.

So, let’s get the marching band off the field, tighten those laces, and charge into the 4th quarter. Let’s rise up and create momentum that makes us all tough to beat.
