D5 Voters Feel Duped With Tax & Spend Sue - Benton Recount Could Finish Friday - Semi Bird Event Next Week

Tax & Spend Sue Marshall Laughs As She Raises Taxes Needlesslyimage

This screenshot was snapped at the exact time when Sue was talking about this tax increase being one of her first votes... I'm not kidding. Imagine that, you laugh as you cast the deciding vote to increase taxes.

Even though the County Manager proposed a budget that showed that a 1% hike in sales tax wasn't needed, just like the Olympia Democrats that voted for tax increases with a current surplus, Sue voted with Olson and Lentz to raise taxes.

Here are a couple more observations of the day...

  • I noticed during the invocation that she refused to pray or bow her head during the prayer.
  • She asked token questions on the Chelatchee Prairie vote that even Julie Olson tried to educate her that it was really an inconsequential issue that she brought up (not the overall issue but the technicality question she presented). She was way over her skis.
  • Sue seemed to be reading her talking point notes that seemed to be in concert with Temple and Olson... she's going to put the Democrat party first and if it helps their party she might throw North County property rights people a bone but don't hold your breath.
  • Her campaign rhetoric of "My candidacy will provide voters a clear choice to elect someone not rooted in partisan politics" was an absolute lie and something she never intended to follow through on.

Benton Recount Continues!image

Tuesday marked the beginning of the manual recount which mostly comprised of separating D5 ballots from the batches to prepare for the actual manual recount that will take place on Friday. Please support the recount efforts or volunteer for Friday. It’s believed that they might be able to complete the recount on Friday.

Having trust in our elections is worth our efforts.

Everything was pretty smooth except that apparently, Mr. Kimsey is very uncomfortable with scrutiny and I’m still living rent-free in his head. At one point, Kimsey told me I couldn’t be on my phone (BTW, which stayed in my pocket the whole time) while he was… on his phone. When I pointed that fact out he sharply said “I’m the Auditor, I can be on my phone. Observers aren’t allowed.”

As of Wednesday, the ballots are now all sorted in their precinct stacks and ready to be manually recounted on Friday.
