Benton Recount Starts This Tuesdayimage

[Read ClarkCountyToday.com article HERE]

On 12/6 Tuesday at 8:30 am the manual recount of all the ballots of 11 precincts in D5 will begin. About 10,000 ballots will be hand-counted. This will be a first and important step to verify if our elections have problems or if ballot tabulating is accurate. This isn't a full forensic audit like many want, but it's a step in the right direction in answering important questions that came up after this election.

Did D5 (North County) really have more democrats turn out than D1 or D2? Did Kent voters, to a large degree, really not vote for Benton? Did Marie Perez fool enough Republicans and Independents away from Joe?

These are just a few questions that several have regarding the recent election. I've done some deep number crunching of the precincts in D5 and the numbers look suspicious.

County Manager Is Getting A Three-Year Contract?!image

Not only will the County Manager get a raise to almost $200k salary (plus $450 auto allowance, full benefits, etc) but she'll be given a 3-year contract which would practically tie the hands of the new Councilors coming in. The County Council doesn't have any supervisory powers over the County Manager, making that role functionally unaccountable to any elected officials. The only power the Councilors have over the manager is to hire/fire but if this outgoing Council (3 will be gone) approves a 3yr contract it will make it very difficult for a new Council to make a change. I predict that the new Democrat-led lame duck Council will approve the new contract extension since the County Manager and Democrats are aligned and the Republican Councilors have only just go along to get along while the taxpayers foot the bill.

Not only a new three-year contract will be reviewed, but a whopping 20 agenda items will be considered during the "Consent" portion and another 8 items in "Separate business" plus budget reports will be considered. Is the County Manager putting a heavy agenda out to make it more difficult for the public to be fully informed to make approval easier or is this just because it didn't get done sooner? No matter the intention, the outcome of the public being at a disadvantage to engage and give comments will happen.

The County Manager extension vote will be a true test for Sue Marshall and will surely expose that she ran on a false campaign to represent people over partisan politics. Marshall has almost zero experience and working relationship with Otto so how could she in good conscience vote to give her a 3-year contract? The only reason to do so is that her Democrat masters will tell her so. I suspect she'll vote with the other Councilors which will probably include Uniparty Republicans.

Why A Manual Recount?

Check out these precincts and tell me what you think... (these numbers have changed some since I pulled the data before finalized & Key to the columns is below the charts).

But here's a list of issues that look abnormal:

  • The volume of general undervotes (those voting in WA3 but did NOT vote D5 race) is 2-10x's higher than last mid-term in 2018 (JHB ran for WA3 and Eileen Quiring O'Brien ran for County Chair).
  • Kent won several D5 districts which then swung to Sue by 15-20%. For example, in one district Kent won 420/257 over Marie yet Sue Marshall supposedly won 326/297 with Benton losing 123 votes or close to 20% of Kent voters. How can two MAGA candidates in D5 have such divergent outcomes?

Left to Right

Blue = Sue Marshall votes

Red = Don Benton

Total Marshall/Benton

Total voted Sheriff (note that more people voted Sheriff than D5)

Maroon = Difference between voting for Kent but NOT for Benton

Purple = Undervotes from 2022 WA3 vs D5 County Council race

Green = Undervotes from 2018 that Voted for JHB but not Eileen Quiring O'Brien (For Comparison).

Blue = Marie votes

Red = Kent votes

Total WA3 votes

Green = Total WA3 votes from 2018 (for comparison)

Benton and Kent campaigns will need help paying for costly recounts... stay tuned. This will be the closest way to an audit so we need to help these recounts go forward.
