My hope is that more of us can see that every single one of us, no matter our differences in age, race, culture, position, etc, have all experienced the same emotions of shame, guilt, disappointment, desire, joy and more. Maybe then, we could aim to build bridges of compassion to have deeper, more loving conversations 🧡

Whether you have an “official” position of leadership or not, we ALL have a circle of influence. And with that circle, we lead in the words we say, the actions we take, and the decisions we make. In a world where many people preach their own way of living, their own definitions of success and life… how can you define yours and stay grounded in it? New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern announced that she will be leaving office after her term, stating that she “has no more in the tank for another 4 years” Having led New Zealand through the 2019 terrorist attacks, being the second world leader in modern history to give birth while in office, and naviagted through the Covid-19 pandemic. All that while being in the public eye… I can’t imagine how tough it was for her. Yet, deciding to leave shows deep self-awareness and responsibility not just to herself, but to her country. Knowing the criticism she could get (and have already gotten throughout the years…) still deciding to do so, is to me, the pinnacle of leadership. How can we be leaders in our own circles today? How can we #OwnYourVoice even when others might disagree? #jacindaardern

All of us have things we want. We want to share our ideas at work. We want to aim for that promotion. We want to grow our brand and business. But what’s stopping us? Whether it’s “lack of time”, procrastination, being “too tired”, the root cause is usually Fear. There’s something we’re afraid of that is holding us back. That’s exactly why with my coachees, we don’t just grow our skillset, we really dig deep to understand what are the limiting factors and fear that may be holding us back. Because otherwise, skillset won’t do much. Faith and Fear are more similar than we think.
