Happy Birthday, Jesus! It’s here, it’s here! A great light has come into the world to banish our darkness and bring us into the presence of God. I’m excited and honored to celebrate what You have done for us. Let today be an awesome day in Your presence. Let me also have a happy Kwanzaa and embody today’s principle of unity (umoja). Help me to be one with You and Your will, Lord God. Bless those who feel that this year has been a relentless burden for them. Give them relief and refreshment. Lighten their loads and let them experience Your fullness of joy in life. We were waiting for You to come and You came! You are as faithful now as You ever were and we are so glad! Help us to worship and celebrate You in spirit and in truth. It is in Jesus’ name and for his sake we pray. Amen

Friday’s Prayer — December 23, 2022

Come, Lord Jesus. Last workday before Christmas! That’s all I can think about as I wake up this morning. I am enjoying this Advent season but I can’t wait to get to Christmas. It is all about You right now. Help me to be fully present at work today, Lord. Let me focus on the tasks before me and be diligent in all I do. Grant that I may rest in You today and do only what You desire for me to do. Bless those who have to work so much just to survive that they barely have time to live. Ease their burdens. Sweep a fresh wind of change into their lives and give them wholeness in You. Have I mentioned it’s almost Christmas? Thank You for placing a joy in my heart the world can never take away. It is in Jesus’ name and for his sake I pray. Amen

Thursday’s Prayer — December 22, 2022

Come, Lord Jesus. I am so grateful You woke me up this morning. Sometimes I can’t get over how You hold life itself in Your hands. You give to me with such generosity and I say thank You for all Your blessings. Help me to be fully present at work today. It is so hard to not be on permanent mental vacation this time of year. Help me to apply myself to the tasks at hand and allow me to be fruitful. We have a storm and cold front coming across the US this weekend. Keep everyone safe, warm, and protected from the elements. Help us to care for the least of these among us. I rejoice that you watch over all of creation. Thank you for caring for me even when I am a knucklehead. Your grace is sufficient. It is in Jesus’ name and for his sake I pray. Amen

Wednesday’s Prayer — December 21, 2022

Come, Lord Jesus. We. Are. So. Close. I can almost taste it. It is almost electric to be in this last week of Advent, so close Your arrival. I pray that this season of waiting deepens my hope in You. Bless me to follow Your lead today and do things that are pleasing in Your sight. Give me the energy and focus I need to do Your will. Help me to be restored and reinvigorated. Bless those who are trying to make the world a better place, Father. Help them to build Your kingdom on earth as it is in heaven. Give them the fullness of joy that only You can. I have the feeling today’s gonna be pretty great and that is all thanks to You. I don’t know what I would do without You. It is in Jesus’ name and for his sake I pray. Amen

Monday’s Prayer — December 19, 2022

Come, Lord Jesus. Good morning, Father. It is the last week of Advent and I am super excited to welcome Your Son into the world. It is great to ponder the grace and mercy that your care for us is filled with. Help me to focus on the task before me with diligence and joy, Lord. Give me pride in my work and a desire to glorify You in all I do. Bless the work of my hands to bear good fruit. Bless those who have no protection from the cold weather, Father. Keep them safe and warm. Help us to care for those in need and be a part of the solutions You are bringing about. Your grace is sufficient for me, Lord. Thank You for guiding me thus far and I pray I will surrender to Your will for me always. It is in Jesus’ name and for his sake I pray. Amen
