New Classics Study Guides presents (with much excitement!) one of our brand-new authors . . . Mark L. Redmond. He is the author of the New Classics featured book, Arty Goes West, which includes a free study guide for your homeschool. Before we introduce the video author visits (where you'll learn fun facts about Mark), here are a few words from our new author.

When I was a boy, I fell in love with the old West and the cowboys who lived in it. That old West was a wonderful place, where the good guys who wore white hats always defeated the bad guys who wore black hats. Those good guys rode faster horses that could gallop for miles. They could draw their guns faster and shoot straighter than the outlaws could, but a good guy usually just shot an outlaw's gun out of his hand. Good guys wore fancy clothes and fancy holsters, and some of them had wonderful singing voices.

I was sad when I learned my heroes weren't any more real than Superman. But I was happy to learn there were real heroes who lived in the old West. When I started writing, I wanted to write about good guys and bad guys who were closer to the real people who lived in the old West. You'll meet them in my books. Happy trails!
