After you submit your form, you will be directed to a link to read the free short story, "The Grandfather Clock," as well as stream or download the audio! Thanks and enjoy! (And please do not share either the printed or the audio story. It is copyrighted. Thank you.)
Now, a word from our founder . . .
Where did New Classics come from? When I homeschooled back in the day, I liked using literature study guides for my students because they could interact with the book independently from me. I know many other homeschoolers like them too.
A few years ago I envisioned New Classics, a website where Christian homeschoolers could get free downloads of study guides for newer books, really good books, with strong moral values like classics of old. That would put these newer classics in the hands of people who will treasure them, who might otherwise never find them in the sea of books being published these days. And it would give homeschooled kids many more books to read.
As a former editor and publisher, I had the skills to choose the books. So I recruited several other authors to get started, particularly Allen Brokken and Susan K. Marlow. Soon we had a website, a review from Cathy Duffy, and a presence at some homeschool conventions. We've been gradually growing, especially since Susan took over editorship of our newsletter and also webmaster duties. Currently there are 15 authors in our group, with more in the pipeline.
Remember to check out our website now and then, see what's new! We have offerings for a variety of ages now.
