In the first episode of the Motorsport Prospects Podcast, I speak with renowned driver coach Ross Bentley of Speed Secrets where we discuss:

  • The importance of having the right people around you.
  • The power of polite persistence.
  • Why people buy who you are.

In addition, since I forgot to ask Ross what his favourite racetrack was, I followed up with him after the recording and, as he could not pick just one, these were his picks:

  • Canadian Tire Motorsport Park because of its fast corners.
  • Laguna Seca because it’s fun and I love the Monterey area.
  • Phillip Island in Australia because it’s beautiful and there are kangaroos!
  • Spa because… well, it’s Spa.

The Last Lap

Peter Revson was a Formula 1 driver in the early 1970s who faced a challenge familiar to many racers: proving that his success wasn’t bought. As heir to the Revlon cosmetics fortune, Revson carried the burden of wealth and the determination to show he belonged on merit. Tragically, his career was cut short during practice for the 1974 South African Grand Prix, where he lost his life.

Cars Rave explores the remarkable life and career of Peter Revson here.
