Personal Branding in Motorsport
Why do driver or rider moves matter so much in racing? There are number of factors, but the short answer is sponsorship. Perhaps a little-known fact to casual fans, but teams are not the only ones that receive sponsorship over the course of a race season.

The Last Lap
Gilles Villeneuve is the man that introduced me to motorsport. Not personally of course but through his exploits on the track. When he burst onto the Formula 1 scene, I was a young kid in high school that played and followed every sport around. Except motorsport. Villeneuve changed that for me and like millions, his death rattled me to the core.
In an especially poignant article on Motorsport Magazine.com, Maurice Hamilton and Nigel Roebuck look at the tragic rivalry between Gilles Villeneuve and Didier Pironi, reminding us once again of one of the great "what-ifs" of motorsport. You can read the article here.
Enjoy,
