Radio Audio: Building Websites Strategically

Aug 28, 2024 2:35 pm

For many years, I have appeared on the radio regularly talking tech. This last Monday, I was asked to appear and expand on my newsletter topic from last week "What do you REALLY mean when you say you need a website?" (re-read here).

Here is a quick summary of what my friend Doug Wagner & I covered on WMT600AM in regards to building websites strategically:

  • Importance of Purpose: I emphasized that many business owners overlook the fundamental question of what they want to achieve with their website, stressing the need for clear goals.
  • Common Roadblocks: I identified that businesses often struggle with understanding the customer's perspective and what they seek when visiting the website, which can hinder effective design and functionality.
  • Customer Journey: I discussed the significance of considering the customer journey, from their arrival on the site to how they navigate and ultimately convert into leads or sales.
  • Post-Launch Strategy: I highlighted the necessity of planning not just for the website's launch but also for the processes that follow, ensuring leads and sales are effectively managed.
  • Expertise in Business Tech: Doug Wagner encouraged listeners to seek out experts for business tech issues, reinforcing the value of professional guidance in creating functional websites.

Your turn: How have you been strategizing (or not) around your current or future website efforts?

Reply and let me know (I reply back to all messages from my list, which means you get some free expert advice!).
