May 20, 2025 2:36 pm

Sorry, it’s been a few weeks since you heard from me — between an outdoor trip with one of my boys (yes, offline!), producing count them one and two — podcasts, and attending regional business workshops, I’ve had plenty to keep me on my toes. But in the meantime, two of my favorite annual BizTech reports have been released, and I’m thrilled to share them with you...

These reports serve as key indicators of where business, marketing, and AI technology are headed. Read these reports to get a jump on how you can best leverage tech in 2025!

2025 Marketing Technology Landscape Supergraphic

The Chief Marketing Technologist — Scott Brinker’s iconic Martech Landscape graphic is back, showcasing the relentless growth of the marketing technology space. This year, the number of solutions grew by 9% to an astounding 15,384, marking a 100X growth since the graphic and report started in 2011. AI continues to revolutionize the landscape, with startups thriving in areas such as content creation, sales, and search engine optimization (SEO).

What’s also fascinating this year is the rise of "customized" software solutions, driven by low-code/no-code platforms and AI. These tools enable businesses to create tailored apps and automations at an unprecedented scale, making it easier than ever to align technology with unique business needs.

For mature businesses and marketing teams, the focus is shifting toward integrating new AI tools with established platforms like CRMs and marketing automation systems. Meanwhile, the consolidation of older tech solutions continues, signaling a natural evolution of the industry.

2025 State of Marketing AI Report

AI is no longer just a buzzword—it’s becoming a critical driver of business and marketing success. The Marketing AI Institute's report this year reveals that 74% of marketers consider AI “critically important” or “very important” to their strategies, with 60% actively piloting or scaling AI solutions. The focus? Efficiency and time savings.

ChatGPT remains the favorite AI tool, but larger companies are increasingly adopting Microsoft Copilot and other enterprise-grade solutions. However, a lack of training and clear AI roadmaps remains a significant barrier for many organizations, with 68% of marketers reporting that their companies offer no formal AI education.

Interestingly, while 53% of marketers believe AI will eliminate more jobs than it creates, most see a mix of risks and opportunities for their roles. The key takeaway? Companies that invest in AI training, roadmaps, and governance are positioning their teams—and their businesses—for long-term success.

Why These Reports Matter To Your Business

Both reports highlight the intersection of BizTech and AI, showcasing how they’re transforming the way businesses operate. Sure, they have a marketing bent to their titles, but no matter your work or current tech focus, these reports offer insights into how best to look at your BizTech, marketing-related or not. Whether you’re looking to streamline operations, enhance customer experiences, or stay ahead of the competition, these insights are invaluable.
