It's time for rest

Hey, ,

For the first two weeks of July I'm in between cycles.

If you're curious about what I mean when I say "cycles," read my past edition on why I've switched to working in six-week cycles.

Since I'm in between six-week cycles, it feels like the perfect window to take time away from work and create some mindfulness for myself.

I've placed a pause on all current projects like ๐Ÿ–ฅ๏ธ Wix in Six, ๐ŸŽ‰ Wix Joy, and ๐Ÿ’ก Wix Unlocked (my new community), and any incoming work until I come.

Wellโ€ฆ both my partner and I are taking time away, together. So, I guess that's mindfulness for the both of us.

It'll be the first time we've done this, at the same time, sinceโ€ฆ well we can't actually remember the last time this was. Maybe before the start of the pandemic?

Last year, I wrote about how taking a break is good for you.

The difference between my time away now and my time away then was thatโ€ฆ then it was just me taking the time away and not my partner. Plus, I still ended up working most days during that break.

To be honest, it was difficult for me to really separate myself from the work. Is this true for you too? I'm curious. Let me know in a reply.

Separating myself from work is needed. For me. For you. For anyone. Again, learn how taking a break is good for you.

Breaks. Time away. Pauses. Retreats. Vacations. Holidays. Sabbaticals.

Your time off could be as simple and short as walk or more advanced like a holidayโ€ฆ or even something else.

While the idea is similar, each type of break will look different. The goal for your time away, however, should be the same:

Time away is meant to be restorative.

Take the break. You're welcome to take one right now. Seriously. I give you permission. ๐Ÿ˜€

My partner and I are taking time off as a way to reset. To refresh. To relax. To come back recharged.

It's an open schedule for us โ€” which is not typical for us. We like to plan things.

But, for this time away, we're looking forward to the wide open scheduleโ€ฆ to ourselves.

I am excited to return and share with you what I learn.

Next week, I'll discuss how I am currently โ€” and how you can โ€” prepare for time away (even if you work with customers, clients, or a team).

๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿผ Say hey and have a wonderful day!

Enjoy,

Matt
