Now that I've gotten your attention by insulting you, let's get going.

The last time I wrote you, I asked if you were still lying to yourself.

Today I want to send a gentle reminder that you - like me - qualify as a hypocrite from time to time.

How many times have you created a rule or standard for your partner, then violated it yourself (and excused the violation in the name of a noble purpose)?

The point of this email isn't to bash you.

Rather it's a reminder that you, like your spouse, are human.

That means you're subject to error and inconsistency, and therefore constantly in need of patience, mercy, and forgiveness.

The more you and I live with an awareness of our own inability to be perfect, (hopefully) the more grace and love we'll extend towards our mate.
