This has to be the best-kept secret in the world. I was told to go to a good school, get good grades, then go to a top university, get good grades, then... rinse and repeat... I guess. To be honest, I was never a great student during my school years. There were glimpses of good grades in University, but that's about it. Then I was out there, in the wild, got a job, and did pretty well. Had I believed what was told to me, there was no way I would have done well in my job. The funny part is that I did believe that my academic performance will shape the rest of my life. I proved myself wrong. Fast forward 10 years of misery and pain. I accidentally got 1:1 Coaching from a phenomenal #ExecutiveCoach. Got Mentored by a super successful #Entrepreneur. Ended up signing up for a #BusinessCoaching Program. And the rest is history. What I have learned in the last 5-6 years; and created from the knowledge has blown me away. 18 years of formal #education does not come close to this golden period and knowledge. So invest in yourself, invest in your learning, and more importantly implement what you learn. If I can do this, anyone can. I know this because I know I am not the smartest chap around. These are some of the things that inspire or encourage people to open up their wallets or chequebooks. It’s you and what you represent that gives your target audience the confidence to buy from YOU. We get so caught up in trying to sell what we have to offer that we forget about human connection. Think about it, when you conduct a #business transaction, you do it on the basis of some level of trust in the other person. Every buying decision is an emotional one. It doesn't matter what you are buying. It is so much easier to buy from someone you can relate to and trust. Hey Everyone! Thought of sharing one of my favourite tools right now. I think I am obsessed with it purely because it's such a dream to use and has transformed the way I use my iPad. It's simple, clean and feels premium. Super easy to use. It's great to mark up PDF documents, take notes, do presentations and probably a lot more, but this is what I use it for mainly. A lot of my #Coaching models and conversations are done on Notability. Recently, I conducted a #LeadGeneration Bootcamp for #BusinessOwners over a Zoom call using Notability. The best part was everything was in one place, that is, the presentation and blank pages to draw models and explain things. This alone just blew my mind! I did not have to switch between sharing my screen and my iPad screen. Alright, my love of this app is clear, I am going to shut up now. It's getting a little weird. LOL! So if you ever need a phenomenal note-taking app and use your iPad for taking notes, give Notability a try! You won't regret it. Hope you found this useful. ps: It's not available on Android. Don’t go through what I did. It is not worth it. Why? Because over 12 years ago when I decided to leave a high-paying - cushy job in the USA and move back to India to become a “BUSINESSMAN” I was simply fooling myself. I thought getting into business would be great. I will make a lot more money and finally, I will get to sign a lot of documents. I am not kidding about the second part. But instead what I got was peanuts as salary because the business was going through turmoil and zero guidance on how to run the business. If I made a mistake it was like the end of the world and my family made sure I felt like the biggest loser on the planet. I didn’t know any better. And to date, I am a very keep your head down in front of your elders and do as they say kind of a person. I guess not all the time because of what happened. So, what happened? I had big ambitions and dreams to be the savior of my family business. I wanted to scale it to new heights. Disrupt the garment manufacturing industry totally. Change the world with my little factory. Create a space of harmony and happiness where people would love to come and work. Build a Bulletproof Team and Systems driven factory. Make a lot of money. But in this journey of trying to scale the business, I missed the boat of Marketing and Sales. We did ramp up at a solid pace because we started with $150k in revenue and scaled to $2.5M in under 3 years but it wasn’t fast enough for the size of manufacturing I had set up. It needed more and finally, in that year, we as a family decided it was time to part ways with this industry as the effort vs. reward was not clearly visible and we lacked the financial risk appetite required to keep the plant running. So when that happened, I decided to get on a mission, I invested tens and thousands of dollars in my personal and technical development. I decided that no one else needs to go through this shit. I decided I am going to do whatever the @#$% it takes to help business owners like myself to scale their business and make a f@#$ing dent in this Universe.
