Instagram LogoWEEK 3: Ok! Ready for tip #3 in the 5 part mini-series to help you energize through the day and make your life so much easier? So far I’ve covered tip #1 Disconnect with gadgets and electronics while having meals. tip #2 Reduce the use of chemicals and highly processed foods and Tip #3 today I am covering regional and seasonal fruits, which is the most essential snack that can improve your immunity through a power house of micro-nutrients present in them. ?????????????? Consume one whole fruit or the quantity that fits in your hand as a snack. Refrain from juices and processed/canned fruits. Frozen is acceptable. Here's why: 1. Did you know that more than 2.5billion people across the globe suffer from micronutrient deficiencies? With the increase in consumption of processed foods/snacks, which have become cheaper and junkier, there is a lack of nutrient deficiency which results in allergies, auto-immune conditions, PCOD, diabetes, loss of fertility, ,obesity and fatigue. (THUMB RULE: The cheaper the product, it is either made from GMO/refined substances with a mix of man-made chemicals) 2. DO NOT let the natural sugars occurring in fruits refrain you from consuming them, because the fiber in a fruit co-factors the sugars in a fruit. 3. Apart from being a power house of vitamins, minerals and fiber; Regional and Seasonal fruits are a host of bioactive compounds that are grinding away as co-factors and flagging agents for endocrine system to maintain hormonal balance. 4. They are good prebiotics that will allow for diversity in gut bacteria. 5. The concentrated power of micronutrients is responsible for a healthy skin, instant energy, strong lasting memory, and many more. 6. When you consume REGIONAL and SEASONAL fruits, it's a SUSTAINABLE approach that contributes to the soil health of the region, and allow for a healthier ecosystem. Include at least a minimum of 10 varieties of REGIONAL and SEASONAL fruits throughout the year Don’t forget to catch me LIVE {LINK in BIO} tonight at 7pm EST, where I dive deeper into this tip and answer your questions! #yourmealmatters #eatlocalfruits
