The Po wer of Your “Thoughts” Challenge.

Life's most amazing events occur when you realize the power of your mind and thoughts. Let's face it, as adults, it's easy to feel out of control. You juggle family, work, and other responsibilities, and sometimes, you can't even control simple things like your sleep schedule.


But here's the thing: you always have control over your thoughts. What you think about throughout your day and how you perceive those thoughts significantly impact your life.


This week, let's focus on the internal conversations that constantly run through our minds, often without our awareness. Buddhists refer to this as "the monkey mind." Once you start paying attention, it's astonishing to see how active and relentless these thoughts are. It's also surprising to see the amount of negativity that can swirl around in there.


When you notice your thoughts turning negative and you're paying attention, you have the power to shift them to something more positive immediately. Remember, negativity and pessimism are not only choices but also habitual thinking patterns for many. Changing these patterns will require patience and persistence over time.


So, start now by closely monitoring the quality of your thoughts. One of my favorite quotes is from Marcus Aurelius: "The happiness of your life depends on the quality of your thoughts." When you encounter thoughts you're not happy with, acknowledge them, then shift to something more positive.


Your mind can only hold one thought at a time. By controlling your thoughts and not letting your monkey mind dominate, your life will start to change significantly.


Your challenge this week is twofold. First, pay attention to the conversations in your head. Second, transform those negative thoughts into more positive and loving ones.
