Happy Tuesday, !

Ever see those people at reunions who look like theyโ€™ve aged backward while everyone else just looksโ€ฆ. older?

The immediate reaction is always: "Must be nice to have those genes." ๐Ÿ˜‚

But here's what's likely going on beneath the surface:

You actually have two ages:

  • Chronological age โ†’ how many birthdays youโ€™ve had
  • Biological age โ†’ how your body is actually functioning

And the two donโ€™t have to match.

Hereโ€™s where it gets interestingโ€ฆ

At the ends of your chromosomes are protective caps called telomeres

They naturally shorten as you age, but your lifestyle plays a big role in how fast that happens.

One study found that people who strength train just 90 minutes per week had telomeres that looked nearly 4 years younger than those who didnโ€™t lift.

And itโ€™s not just training.

Sleep quality, nutrition, stress, and alcohol intake all directly impact how your body ages behind the scenes.

So no, this isnโ€™t about trying to โ€œstop aging.โ€

Itโ€™s about this:

You donโ€™t just want more years.

You want better years.

Thatโ€™s what weโ€™re focusing on this month.

Not just understanding what mattersโ€ฆ but actually applying it.

Some homework: Tonight, start paying attention to your sleep. Track a few simple things over the next few days:

  • What time you go to bed
  • What you did before (scrolling, TV, reading, etc.)
  • How you feel the next morning

Patterns show up fast when you look for them.

And once you see themโ€ฆ you can start adjusting.

Keep up the good work,

Coach Lu
