Love That Never Leaves

Oct 31, 2025 6:01 pm

Dear ,

Today, as we observe All Souls Day, my family and I visited my father’s grave. My mother, brother, sister, and the grandchildren gathered there to sit, chat, reflect, and simply BE.

It was only in the final days of my father’s life that I truly understood the importance of stillness. The quiet moments. The presence that speaks without words. The deep bonds of love that continue even when a voice has fallen silent.

Today, we rest in his presence. We remember that those we love never truly leave us. Their essence remains interwoven with our lives.

I often wish we could plant a poui tree near his tomb. Its bright blossoms feel like joy returning each year. The authorities will not allow it, though I still imagine a tiny seedling finding its way into the soil, growing roots where love still lingers.

If you are missing someone today, I am holding space for you. You are welcome to honour them in whatever way feels right for you. If you feel comfortable, you may share a cherished memory by replying to this email. I would be honoured to hold that memory with you.

Love never dies. It simply transforms.

With warmth and grace,

Dr Sandra Hamilton
