My yard is celebrating Spring now! It gets prettier every day.

Were you able to see the eclipse? According to many traffic reports, everyone in the nation traveled just before and after. I was lucky—my flights to and from Austin were, well, rebooked and the gates changed many, many times (4 times in Dallas), but I made it. My son and daughter-in-law traveled to Dripping Springs, to the house of good friends, and it was a great party! The clouds parted just in time.

My daughter’s family saw it in Texas and her husband, Jesse Busen, got these great pix!

Before that, we were able to spend a lovely afternoon at The Austin Motel pool, where my son works.

Short Stories

***The eclipse anthology, DARK OF THE DAY, came out on 4/1, just in time for the eclipse. It’s stuffed with dark and light stories about the sun and moon dance that happens so rarely. (Okay, it happens a lot, but not where I can see it.) I went there, and bought the t-shirt! Yes, I’ve seen two now and am thinking about the one in Spain, in 2026.

WHAT I’M DOING

***Still, slowly unpacking from my very fun trip to Austin. I got to meet a bunch of friends of my kids, many of them musicians. Sat in on a pickers’ circle a couple of times on the porch, and won a raffle for a huge bottle of vodka at my daughter-in-law’s school benefit. Okay, AND some Tito’s tequila (made in Austin.
