Is Your Thyroid Missing Key Nutrients?

Hi ,

How are you doing today?

When it comes to thyroid health, we often think about lab tests and medications. But there’s a foundational piece that’s frequently overlooked—nutrients.

Your thyroid gland depends on several nutrients to function properly. Without them, it can’t make or convert hormones effectively.

Why does this matter? Because thyroid hormones don’t just regulate your metabolism. They also play a key role in your brain, affecting memory, concentration, sleep, and mood.

In this short video, I walk you through the most essential nutrients for thyroid health.

Essential nutrients for optimal thyroid function:

Iodine – essential for making thyroid hormones, but both deficiency and excess can be harmful.

Selenium – helps convert T4 to the more active T3 and protects the thyroid from oxidative stress. Excess levels can be a risk factor for metabolic dysfunction; therefore, it is best to measure them before supplementing.

Zinc – supports hormone production and immune regulation.

Iron – needed to activate an enzyme involved in thyroid hormone synthesis.

Tyrosine – an amino acid that forms the backbone of thyroid hormones.

Vitamin A, B12, and D – play indirect but crucial roles in maintaining thyroid and immune health.

You may be following a healthy food plan and still be low in some of these nutrients.
