Help Me Suffer for a Great Cause

Well , at this unfortunate time, that I have found myself guilty of not following my own advice. I know, a real shocker.

And to further disappointment, I knew what I was (not) doing.

And I know the reason why.

And that led us here.

In just 11 weeks, I’m going to do something I’m unprepared for - and I need your help!

When blood cancer casts a shadow over a loved one’s life, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is there—funding research, providing support, and offering a beacon of hope. That’s why I’ve joined forces with LLS to raise money for their life-saving work.

I’m riding my bike 73 miles around Lake Tahoe to help fuel their mission.

And that’s where I’ve failed.

Although I’m in decent overall shape, I’m far from “sit on a skinny bike seat and pedal for 5 hours” shape.

Here we are: where I’m going to take my own medicine, and follow the framework from Win Your Next Hour. W.I.N.

Words - I posted a video to Instagram, and am writing this email to announce that I’m doing it.

Invest - I spent weeks fixing up an old road bike, and have also committed to the fundraising goal.

Note Your Progress - I log every day that I log saddle time.

This is how you can help:

  1. Next time you see me, ask if I rode my bike on that day.
  2. Please donate to the ride here: https://pages.lls.org/tnt/sac/ambbr25/DLehr
  3. Reply and give me ideas - I want to do something kind of wild if I crush the fundraising goal. What should that be?

Is Tahoe beautiful? Yes.

Will this be really hard, and way out of my comfort zone? Absolutely.

Will I survive? TBD

Donate to help others, and support my suffering.

Be great,

Danny Lehr

TLDR: I’m going to be riding a bicycle around Lake Tahoe in June as a fundraiser for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. They do amazing work, and you can support by donating to my pain here: https://pages.lls.org/tnt/sac/ambbr25/DLehr
