A little Christmas note 🎄
Dec 25, 2025 7:25 am
Morning,
I’m writing this on Christmas morning with a herbal tea in hand.
I don't drink coffee, never even tasted it. So this isn't a health choice. 😂
I just want to send a quick note to say thank you, and to wish you a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year.
This time of year is for slowing down. Putting your feet up. Spending time with family and friends. And giving yourself permission to properly switch off.
And no… this is not a reminder to go and smash the Festive 500.
While that might be a fun goal for some people (especially if you’re in the Southern Hemisphere with sunshine on your side), it’s not something I’ll be doing, or recommending to any of my clients.
Christmas is about rest, recovery, and presence. The weather isn’t great, colds and flus are everywhere, we’re eating richer food, sleeping a bit differently, and generally living out of routine.
Piling pressure on yourself to rack up huge miles right now doesn’t really serve anyone.
If you fancy heading out for a gentle spin here and there, great. Enjoy it. But don’t lose sight of what really matters.
There are moments this time of year you don’t get back. Time with family you might not see often. Conversations that don’t happen the rest of the year.
Those I feel are far more valuable than how many miles you log on Strava over Christmas week.
For me, Christmas is one of the rare chances I get to properly spend quality time with family and friends, and I’m really grateful for that. I hope you get the chance to do the same.
Thank you, genuinely, for being here. For subscribing, opening my emails, and following along with my thoughts, stories, and adventures. I really appreciate the support more than you probably realise.
Wishing you a relaxed, happy Christmas and a brilliant start to the New Year.
Much love,
Neil
