What do you need fear for?

#538 – What do you need fear for?
Well of course, you don't need it; fear is just an Ego thing. It brandishes it whenever you're about to free yourself from its grip.
Yesterday, I received several pieces of fantastic news. "Let's shoot some fireworks," my husband said on the phone. Yes, yes.
This afternoon, though, after working non-stop for seven hours on the AI project, my spirit had flattened. The tasks are draining, uninteresting, and difficult. Then, you get "graded," with the threat that they'll kick you off if you don't maintain a certain average.
By the time I clocked out, I felt bitter and cantankerous. I literally felt like biting––or at least flashing my fangs.
Without inquiring further, I sent two emails in Portuguese and noticed I couldn't come up with the words or the right sentence structure.
Ok, enough, I said, and I did my daily Yoga With Adriene class.
The 28 minutes in silence with my breath and body allowed me to see: it was fear.
Fear because one piece of news requires to make a large payment now. Fear because the other two are job opportunities that kind of conflict with each other and what will I choose? Fear because I still need to pack for the move and my son still needs his transfer to be approved and.
And so what, I asked myself. What's the use of fear? How will having fear change these things?
It won't. So I might as well keep the joy and the fireworks and just see what happens.
What will you feel when you stop avoiding to trust?
Love,
Carolina
