#280 – What's the best use of your power?
"A great being doesn't use their power to make the universe––inside or out––be the way they want it to be. They use their power to accept the way it is."
Michael A. Singer
For a while, I was convinced that I needed to master the "law of attraction" and did everything the gurus said. Write my goal numbers, declare my dreams, state my aspirations as if they are already real (and of course, pay for the courses, the books, the mastermind groups...).
But then, as I started on this path to free myself from the Ego and the Ghosts, I questioned: isn't wanting the opposite of surrendering to life and accepting reality?
Yes. Wanting is a thought triggered by the Ego when it believes there's something missing.
But the True Self is whole, and nothing could make it "more whole"––there's no such thing as "more whole." The True Self needs nothing (besides the basics to keep you alive).
What about curiosity? Yes, the True Self has curiosity. It may desire to explore and learn things.
But it doesn't get jealous when seeing people's experiences and extravagant lifestyles on Instagram.
And what about the impulse to do/create things? When it comes from the True Self, it's called inspiration.
But when you do/create things because you think it'll give you status (like: write a book to get more clients, post your photos to get more followers, do a TED Talk to get recognition), that's the Ego working.
So, what's the best use of your power?
To strengthen your metaphorical back so that you're able to accept reality as it is, even when it's incomprehensibly hard.
To work on yourself to let go of FOMO and other Ego-triggered needs.
To stay centered in your True Self, not allowing it to hide behind the layers of self-protection that the Ego and the Ghosts insist on covering it with.
What Ego-triggered need will you let go of to take a step towards your freedom?
Love,
Carolina
