👋🏽 ¡Hola, !

¡Buenas tardes, champ! I hope you're ready for this week's

PICTURE: 📸

Morning walk sighting, street art.

I took a picture of some art that made me (and maybe you too) sound out the noise a spray bottle makes. I thought it was clever and very simple --two of my favorite attributes. The piece was at the end of an abandoned lot.

OPTIMISM: 💖

A quote:

“You are never strong enough that you don’t need help.”

— Cesar Chavez"

COOL FIND: 🕵🏽‍♂️

The Instagram algorithm thinks I'm a sneakerhead after I shared with you the agua fresca collection from Puma. Look at who's jumping on the POCHO shoes bandwagon now:

👟 Adidas Día de Muertos Collection 👟

Adidas is bringing iconic designs to life with their special Día de Muertos collection! These sneakers combine vibrant details that celebrate the beauty of this traditional holiday—perfect for collectors and fans alike!

👢 Timberland Día de Muertos Collection 🌼

Timberland is celebrating Día de Muertos with a special collection that fuses Mexican culture with fashion! Featuring vibrant colors, handcrafted details, and designs inspired by marigolds and altars, this collection honors tradition while keeping the iconic Timberland style. Bold, colorful, and even glow-in-the-dark elements, each piece invites you to celebrate life and remember your ancestors in style. [I should be in marketing]

HOMEWORK: 📝

Family Vacation: Inspired by my sister's recent family trip to Oaxaca, Mexico, I thought it would be fun to plant a seed in your head, . Plan a family vacation to a place that celebrates both Mexican and American cultures. Maybe it's in a Latino-dense city in the US or a daycation just south of the border. It's never too early to start looking into locations and setting goals for next year.

OTHER STUFF: 📢

Books books books. I've recently added to my completed books, I'm always open to your suggestions and invite you to connect on GoodReads.

imageimageJust in time for election season, The Latino Century by Mike Madrid dives into the changing demographics of the country and how that may or will playout in November. The book tells the author's personal and relatable story and dives into his career championing Latino experiences as a political advisor - this read is perfect for data nerds like me and though it's a newish book the small Trump - Biden narrative sounds outdated due to the nature of this election cycle. I read The Cult of Trump a couple of years ago, the fun read uses the Trump phenomena to dive into cults --strangely, I'm a fan of cults and their capabilities, and found this one to be interesting enough to consider. What are you reading these days?

Many thank yous to you for opening and reading these emails! I hope you enjoyed today's POCHO Stuff Email. Let me know your thoughts on spooky season, area nonprofits, upcoming events or anything else that might pop into your POCHO brain. See ya next Friday, have an amazing week.
