👋🏽¡Hola hola, !

This week, we're mixing breezy bay views with deep cinematic vibes and a little career inspo on the side. I took a picture of "Tuna Harbor" and the Tuna Harbor Pier that wraps around the tiny marina just south of the USS Midway in the big blue bay. I was across the street at EVE, the fourth-floor venue with a wrap-around terrace that the San Diego Padres manage.

OPTIMISM: 💖

A quote to launch into spring

"Let us dance in the sun, wearing wildflowers in our hair..."

COOL FIND: 🕵🏽‍♂️

Cine Mexicano Moderno 🎬

All the movie talk from last week's POCHO Stuff Email sent me down a cinematic rabbit hole, and I landed on this gem of a reel on Instagram celebrating modern Mexican cinema.

From road trip classics like Y tu mamá también to powerful social commentaries like Ruido, this list is full of stories that reflect who we are—bold, emotional, funny, raw. If you’re looking to add some cultura to your watchlist, this is a great place to start. 🎥 ¿Cuál de estas pelis es tu favorita, ? Let’s talk!

HOMEWORK: 📝

Cultural Garden Tour: Visit a local botanical garden or arboretum and explore the diverse plant life from around the world.

OTHER STUFF: 📢

A quick note from my Linkein profile, if we haven't connected there, let's do it!

Volunteering your professional skills isn’t just about giving back—it’s also a great way to expand your network and collaborate with people who share your values. Recently, I dusted off my event marketing hat to support Mainly Mozart's Culinary Concerto and it reminded me how energizing it is to work with a cause that’s near and dear to you.

If you’re thinking about using your expertise for good, here are two quick tips:

🎯 Align with your passions

Find organizations that truly resonate with you. Your enthusiasm will make the experience even more rewarding. And you'll meet like-minded professionals.

🤝 Leverage your skills

Whether it's marketing, finance, or operations, nonprofits appreciate professionals who can jump in and make an impact. Trust, they don't have the budget now, but when they do, they may just think of you!

Hook me up with a like on LI for the algo-monster, and follow there for more.

Thanks for riding the wave with me this week, POCHO fam. Whether you’re planning a garden stroll, bingeing Mexican classics, or offering your skills to a cause that matters, remember—it’s all about staying connected to culture, community, and corazón. See you next Friday, same POCHO time, same POCHO channel!
