Instagram LogoElderberry! I had the beautiful gift of wild crafting this plant this Fall. I also found it where I grew up, when I traveled home, to New York in September. It grew in the clearing where I played as a kid. Now overrun, returning to its natural wildness. If you're going to harvest it yourself, do your research. There are many varieties and the red kind in particular is not edible. All other kinds must be dried or cooked before use. Plus we use extraction methods - not ingesting the entire berry. All that out of the way, elderberry is a wonderful, old medicine. It has a wonderful mystic and energetic side and lots of stories in folklore. On a practical level, it has known benefits for the physical body and is continually being researched for more. One of my favorite teachers, Sajah Popham wrote in an elderberry monograph, "while it's a super common remedy for the treatment of flu, and sometimes it's tempting to not want to go with what everyone else does, this is one of those plants that is just SO reliable and effective that it's not one to overlook or want to "go against the grain" and get too fancy. It works. " @evolutionary_herbalism I love elderberry because it's not only reliable, it's so tasty! I'm crafting my very own elderberry syrup as well as a fun mixer with alcohol (preservation) and apple cider vinegar plus many other herbs. The only contraindication I know of for elderberry is if it's a syrup with honey, it's not for children under 1 years old. If you'd like to be the first to know when they're available please join my email list. I'll post here too but those algorithms....🌿🙏🥰 #elderberrysyrup #elder #plantmedicine #herbalmedicine #herbalism #herbalistsofinstagram #herbalgarden #wildcrafting
Instagram LogoI've been posting about Herbal Box Monthly here and there. I want to be more transparent and share the REAL DEAL with y'all. I started this because it astounds me what powerful and accessible medicine we have via herbs. Half of adults have chronic health issues, autoimmune disease is on the rise, mental health has been a struggle for many during the COVID era (and before too). We need to broaden our horizons! HBM is a very gentle introduction. Herbs are a category of plants used to support our health and enhance our foods. Plants have been evolving on this planet far longer than us, and have developed a variety of responses to their environment. As humans, we have always used plants for medicine, benefiting from their vast array of chemical constituents that modern science is still uncovering. When I was in herb school I was struck how both KNOWLEDGE and TIME stood between most of and the benefits of herbs. Most of us have no idea where to start. There are so many herbs out there and it can be completely overwhelming to figure out which are best, let alone vet for quality products. Second, TIME. Most of us have already gone through countless courses, self-help books, diets, and whatever else. Yes, we're curious, life-long learners, however at this point we need something practical, which fits with our full lives. Thus, I created HBM. I get to share the many amazing herbal allies that can support you every day. You get to sit back and receive seasonal, easy to use herbal products each month. Always organic or ethically wildcrafted. Always with detailed info so you can LEARN along the way and gain more agency over time. If you have questions, please reach out. If you'd like to join, link in bio, and last page of post contains a 10% off to use by Oct. 31st. 😘 And of course, I am not a MD. All info is provided for educational purposes only. :) #herbalgarden #herbalallies #plantmedicine #missoulamt #herbaltea #plantsaremedicine #tisane #growyourmedicine #herbalism #womenentrepreneurs #smallbusiness
Instagram LogoThere are lots of ways to make money.  The training I’m sharing about here is one of the reasons I felt brave enough to step away from my full-time job in January.  Up until fairly recently, I believed working extremely hard and compromising was the only way to earn a decent living. As someone who cared about doing impactful work, I was OK accepting mediocre salaries in exchange for ‘a job that mattered.’  Yet, as I became more embodied, more connected to my deep, true vibrant self, I began to realize I wanted more than to sit at a desk all day. I wanted work that spoke to my deeper callings and curiosities. I wanted work that couldn’t easily be found listed on Indeed or Idealist as it was born within me.   I learned about crypto investing at exactly the right time—a time when I knew I was ready for a work transition in my life, yet completely unclear what that transition would look like.  Signing up for this program, was a huge step in realizing there are MANY ways to make money. It increased my confidence and peace of mind, helping me to leave my job and pursue my herbal studies.  Many of us feel constrained by money, tied to the limited raises we get from our W2 job, or stuck on the idea that we can ‘frugal’ our way to our dreams.  Currently, I'm deep in the throws of creating my herbal business. While crypto hasn't been a silver bullet, it has given me comfort to know I'm building financial foundations in different ways, while pursuing work that excites my soul. It's given me a sense of how much is possible, much that barely fit into my prior world-view. If you’re interested in learning more, you can register for the free webinar. And yes, I AM a proud affiliate for this program. In fact, if you join it you can be too for the next round of the course :) If you are considering and have questions you’re welcome to DM, though I suggest you watch the webinar and read the info you’ll receive first, as it will answer many :)  Here's the link to the free webinar though it'll be easier to click on from the story or bio. https://ls.krtra.com/t/4yQno7NH2VCp #cryptoinvesting #cryptobotomvesting #botinvesting #pursueyourdreams #womenentrepreneurs
Instagram LogoBeing in NY the past week was profoundly impactful. I had thought it would be the perfect setting to write to you about my business. To tell you in the home of my mother--a gifted healer, the stories behind my business name--3 Generations Wellness. Instead, I found myself going through a deep process and search. I rifled through every cabinet, closet and box of old paperwork. I read through marketing work my mom rocked in the 80s, old holiday letters she'd sent to her community, and painful '90s letters back and forth between my newly divorced parents. I found lyrical verses and stories my grandfather wrote me at age 1, 2 and 3, and his shame-filled admittance of financial struggles. I found a heartfelt note my father wrote to my mother on their 5th wedding anniversary. I read through cards from friends written 5 years ago when my mom died. If I read them at the time, I can't remember--it was a blur of shock, pain and disbelief. I looked in awe at my mom's vast book collection, pulling out volumes on herbs, cancer and family constellations to take along with me. For the first time, I walked around the land where I grew up and recognized plant allies. The land of my childhood transformed as I saw it with new eyes and meaning. I saw how plants had always been with me, had always been working their magic, whether I knew it or not. It seemed beautifully poignant that mugwort was the most prominent, growing abundantly along roads and trails wherever I looked. Mugwort is a medicine of communion with the dead, dreams, and of protection. It was long used to support the female reproductive system. It is the exact medicine I needed most, and it was abundant. I drank her as tea, I left her at my mother's grave, and tucked some in my bags to work with back in Missoula. Plants have a way of being there for us. Of showing up when we need them most. Yet, if we are unaware we can go a lifetime living in their midst and never connect with them or their healing potential. If you want an easy way to integrate herbs into your life, click the link in my bio and join Herbal Box Monthly. #herbalallies #mugwort #spiritualherbalism #womenentrepreneurs
