Hi ,
Is it just me, or in your house is getting sick a communal event too? These past couple of weeks it seems like all our family's done is pass a bug from one person to the next. Every time I think we're coming out of it, the next person is down and the rollercoaster keeps going! 😖
Between sickness and travel for work, I feel like my writing hasn't progressed as far as I want, but then I have to take a step back and remember there's more than just writing the next story going on. There are a dozen tasks in flight to get this first novel out to you!
The next big thing? You guessed it.
We're less than two months away from the debut of The Oathsworn Chronicles series, first on Kickstarter. Which is crazy to think about! Even as I work through the final formatting and proofing of Awakening, there's the campaign itself I'm building out. There's a whole series of ups and downs, starts and stops, as each piece of the campaign is worked into place. I'm a bit of a perfectionist, and I want every detail to help bring the story to you and others hungry for high-stakes tales of magic, world-ending curses, faith, and battles with villainous mages.
You might remember from my last email a bit about what makes launching my book on Kickstarter especially fun: early access, exclusive swag, a seriously awesome special edition... There's a lot to share that's only possible through a Kickstarter. I hope you'll find something enjoyable in it too. AND if you perked up at the mention of "special edition", maybe this will get you pumped for April...
The Awakening Signed Special Edition. 🤫
It's not the final version, just an initial proof copy from the printer. There are some elements I can't add until the Kickstarter ends, the most important being the names of everyone who backs it, and possibly some extra special stretch goals. But it was surreal having this appear on my doorstep last week. The journey into the world of Aldaria is almost here y'all. It's going to be epic.
I hope to have an even bigger sneak peek in my next update to you, so stay tuned. 🤞 And if you've checked out Awakening's pre-launch page, let me know what excites you, bores you... Any of it!
One more Kickstarter to check out
If you're looking for another great author to support, check out this fantastic Kickstarter live right now! Josiah is an author friend of mine who recently launched his first campaign, and there are a ton of awesome perks you can pick up by backing his book, A Study of Shattered Spells. Think Harry Potter, but from a teacher's perspective, and the magic revolves around music. I've already backed it myself! If you're interested too, you only have about a week left to get in on all the extras, so don't wait!
Find your next freebie!
There are plenty of brilliant authors and stories out there to tide you over in the meantime! Another wide selection of them is free to pick up all this month. Well, at least for the week you have left. 😊 So don't forget to check it out here.
But wait, there's more! (Cue the infomercial voice.) Several of the stories in this one caught my attention, and I'll probably be adding them to my growing TBR list. You can view all the giveaways here.
I hope you're staying healthy and finding time to slow down and escape into some new worlds. Thanks for being a part of this awesome tribe of supporters. ☺️
Happy reading!
